The uni shows a number of great facilities, well-stocked libraries, computer clusters, gyms, shops, supermarkets and places to eat. The standard of teaching is very high, and there are lots of activities and events for exchange students, where you can meet people coming from all over the world. In addition, loads of sport activities and huge lists of societies to join need to be mentioned. Accomodations are pretty good, even though a bit expensive. Definitely a greate place to live and study!

I still know as much information at what I knew before, apart from where it is. Also, the location is quite poor to find at first, but I reckon it won't be as hard to find if you study here. These are my opinions about the place, and depending on what people want to study, the ratings will differ.

York Uni is a combination of several colleges on one campus…read more It is set in beautiful grounds with lakes and has a pub and a bar, bookshop and library. I have stayed here as an academic but it really is the cheapest place to stay if you want a holiday or have business in York. Out of term time they do very cheap B & B and also self catering apartments for 6 or more. It is all under £100 each for the week. I think a twin room is around the £80 mark and that includes breakfast. It is an easy stroll into York. I remember one student saying he had gone for a walk to the kebab shop and seen some pseudo walls like a film set. NO The Barbican and medieval walls! Off the campus in the other direction is the village of Hesslington which has a couple of decent pubs that do food but of course there is all that York can offer in the way of food and entertainment the other way. Heslington makes a nice, quite change one evening though. The reason for the 4 stars. Well student accomodation is very basic but it is the b*y ducks! You cannot easily sit on the grass and you trail in duck pup. They started with 2 (think they are Canadian geese) and now they have hundreds! Anyway all of you wanting to visit York here is the cheap B & B! Giving away my secrets now it will be full when I want to go :)

Its sixties concrete building were considered quite innovative at the time, I believe, but they take a bit of getting used to. Luckily, there's a very pleasant campus to help on that front, though the geese are far less welcoming. York is the only university in the country without a central student venue so don't expect a packed SU bar; the majority of the college bars are pretty dead, when they're open. The closest thing to a student bar you'll find is the King Charles XII pub in Heslington village; their cheap booze ensures they're rammed to the rafters with students in term-time. Otherwise it's but a twenty-minute walk to the centre of town and its plethora of bars, pubs and restaurants.

However the…read morearea of Leeds surrounding, the knowledge and level of teaching the staff are at and the campus's just put Leeds Beckett in first place. Being manly situated at the Headingley campus I get the joy of walking through Beckett park daily and I just love it, especially in the summer. Although the on campus shop shuts fairly early it's a great place to learn.

All courses are accredited and all tutors have salon experience. Some seem a little distracted and may be not quite suited to teaching and some of the facilities aren't up to scratch as other more widely established colleges such as Thomas Denby for example there is no library, or finance department to help students pay their fees. There is however, plenty of chance for students to gain practical and essential experience in practicing beauty therapy. Sunday Specials are sessions where you can pay £12 for any two treatments given by trainee students. You could get the same salon quality as a fully fledged beauty therapist would provide, it will probably take longer than in a normal salon and, it is definitely a good deal. The proof of quality can be seen by the hustle and bustle of the Salon on Sunday. Because of this, all students will leave with direct salon experience which any conscientious therapist desires before being let loose on the general public and, as a customer, is invaluable.

I enjoyed my 3 years at lancaster and certainly felt comfortable and relaxed within the strong community that existed within the college system. Lots of places to shop and eat on campus means that you rarely need to leave (if you're being lazy). It is a self contained town, but well linked by buses to the outside world. I still head back now and then for a beer at one of the bars and am always welcome, even though I'm no longer a student there.

One of the best schools in Britain until recently the QE6 was led by a man who cared very much for…read morehis charges and who has now been given a job advising on a national basis. A great computer room with ideal air conditioning making the room feel cool to work up sets the standered for the rest of the college. A wonderful old building with lots of history, it sits next to the Art Centre in one of the oldest parts of Darlington where in the time of King James an army of 10,000 camped on their way to fight the Scots.

The Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College is a very striking building and has a great reputation as a…read morecollege with its results from students. I attended this Sixth Form College for two years and thoroughly enjoyed it, it was probably some of my best years in education so far. The teachers are very warm and welcoming and always have time for you. The atmosphere is slightly more laid back than secondary school and they give your more responsibility and begin to treat like adults. There is a wide range of courses available from business studies to Film studies to biology and fashion! I would recommend this establishment ten times over.
