Lee Page Hanson is a ceramic artist. His work includes mainly decorative pieces for the home. He has a huge range of wall tiles, of which I have two. They're the kind you hang rather than paste into place and grout.
Birds feature widely in his work, along with other animals, butterflies and flowers. The patterns and impressions made in the clay add texture and many of the pieces are painted. I noticed recently a few tiles with a shiny copper effect which is used sparingly to add detail here and there.
The tiles range in size and price but you can pick up a small tile for about £14. Very reasonable considering the time it must take to create, fire and glaze the pieces. read more
