So I called the office and spoke to Tom, and he literally said he was very busy and did not have time for me, and simply yelled at the phone at me. This was within the first minute of the call. Maybe he was having a bad day? Very uncalled for and unprofessional, considering how my family and I gave them business for so many years. His assistants are OK, they get their jobs done but also with huge attitudes. I gave up and moved on to a much better CPA after this incident. No one deserves this kind of treatment. Tom used to be so kind and friendly. Would give ZERO star if possible.

( Like negative 10 stars) So for those of you seeking for a good accountant to save you money and time during tax season please read on, this review will save you money, time and pain by avoiding this MR. TSAI. First of all, I have been filing my tax return with Mr. Tsai for almost twenty years since I was 20 years old. ( 18 years to be precise, as you can see in my photos, I have many tax files with him) In the most years, My tax situation is very simple, W-2 and a person who knows how to file my tax, so I never trouble him in anyway or ask too many questions. Most years, I will just drop it off, pay for it and pick it up. I have to say he is fairly cheap and quick. Even though, there was time when I asked him if there were some ways that I can do to legally save some money on taxes, he just told me:" Don't focus on save money on taxes, instead focusing on making more money." I admit I should have realized that as a BIG RED FLAG. This year, my wife and I have a few questions about my tax return that we dont fully understand so we decide to stop by his office, ask him the questions directly, pay him and give him back the signed documents at the same time. In the end of our 15 mins meeting with Mr. Tsai, after a lot of " I dont know, that is computer generated number" and " You don't need to understand this, if you ask me to do your tax, you need to trust me." During our quick meeting, he keeps talking down to me and my wife like teenagers instead of people who are in their late 30s and also work in financial indudstry. I insisted to try to understand some questions about my TAX file with accountant who files my TAX. Suddenly, Mr. Tsai pulled out my check from the file and gave it back to me and said:" Here is your check, I can't do business with you anymore, bye-bye. " My wife and I were absoluatly shocked and speechless, we both can not believe what just happened. We both do not think we were being rude to him IN ANYWAY and we are simply want to know more about OUR TAX RETURN as We were ready to file our tax for 2022, now we are two weeks away from deadline and need to new accountant. I told Mr. Tsai that I have been filing my tax return with him for over 15 years and we are just trying to get some answers, but he does not seem to care much, keep saying bye-bye on our way out of his office. In conclusion, although I now only have two weeks to do my tax, thanks to Mr. Tsai, but I am also very happy to see his real color and be able to share this with more people, his lack of skill force him to avoid any hard questions, he does not like to be challenged, it is not because he is too busy or etc., he just does not know the answers. So if you don't mind to be treated like crap, HE IS THE ONE; If you don't mind to sign anything puts in front of you and never ask any questions, HE IS THE ONE; If you need to find a good accountant during tax season and provide you with good service experience and kindness, please stay away from John Tsai, the worst accountant in the area.

That level of professionalism is rare and truly builds trust over time. Because of my positive experience, I also referred a friend's company to Jeff for their business tax needs. They were extremely grateful for the introduction and even told me that Jeff has been a "financial lifesaver" for their company. He helped them navigate complex situations and brought clarity and structure to their finances. The omission cost us nearly $5k in refund. During our initial meeting with Mr. Hou, we met with him for 40 minutes explaining the special circumstances as it relates to our tax return filing. Also important to note: Mr. Hou had a copy of our complete 2008 return with the same forms to reference when he was preparing our taxes. Additionally, he was given other documents that, if used, would have assisted his filing. The frustrating part about the entire process is that Mr. Hou denied ever knowing he needed to file the injured spouse form. I don't really know to this day what he was writing on that notepad of his during our initial meeting. I can't explain why I even handed him our 2008 return to reference. I've since returned to H&R Block and in doing so, saved some money and received honest and better service.
