TLDR: Don't waste your time. Believe the bad reviews. Find another dealer. Reached out to this dealer about an X5 they had posted online for a few weeks with a price drop. Initially they reached back out to me asking me if I was interested. They did a good job of getting me the auto check report for the vehicle which was greatly appreciated. As I'm in a cash buyer and don't finance vehicles I asked for an out the door price including all taxes, title, fees, etc. I was met with a response of " The price is online at $16,000. We have an $899 dealer fee, plus tax and tag fees. " Unfortunately that's not terribly helpful as I was looking for a single number to compare around and shop with. Something I imagine they did not want to give me because they're used to making their money through customers financing. Fine, no problem; I told them I would look for a better deal and went on my way. Had that been the only interaction I would not have left this review. However maybe a week or so later the initial salesman reached out through email about the same X5 or any other vehicle I might be interested in. I explained that I had narrowed my search from an N63tu (bmw's TT V8) vehicle to a B58 (Inline6 turbo) vehicle and therefore that particular X5 was no longer of interest to me. I wrote a long and detailed email letting him know what I was looking for specifically. No answer whatsoever after several days; which bothered me because he would have responded immediately like the first time if he thought I was an easy sell. So I sent HIM a follow up email asking why there was no response especially considering their X5 is still sitting on their lot and only getting further price cuts online. Again no email. This dealer stinks of waiting for an eager sucker to come along and take whatever carrot/deal is dangled in front of them. Salesman that are amazing when they think they're closing on you and don't have the time to send you a 2 sentence email response otherwise. Save yourself the hassle and probably a mechanical headache and look elsewhere. I'm glad I didn't fly out to consider it. read more

The people here accused me of being a scammer but the whole time it was them. Long story short, sold me a car-papers were signed. Then couldn't allow me to take it off the lot bc their "boss Kyle was fishing offshore". ?! Promised delivery the next morning, never happened, no communication. Bought a plane ticket home to WISCONSIN, but they finally reached out while I was driving to airport and said it was ready and on its way to be dropped off to me. I Cancelled flight-no refund, went back and they No showed-no communication. Multiple contacts to them, they made Multiple attempts to make me go back to take it off the lot myself-nice try. I cancelled it because things were sketchy-they told me to find my own way home and call their lawyers if I had a problem with it. My car also remained posted online with higher price. I'm sharing this to warn friends, neighbors, and anyone in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area about my recent experience with Lee Auto. I am 89 years old, and the vehicle I purchased from them broke down on I‑75 within minutes of leaving the lot. My wife and I were stranded in the dark and had to pay $200 for towing. Since the purchase, I have spent over $5,500 out of pocket on towing and repairs caused by the vehicle's immediate mechanical failures. When I contacted the dealership, they refused to take responsibility, refused reimbursement, and even tried to charge me another $125 for a repair they had previously said was "on them." I have filed complaints with FLHSMV, FDACS, the Attorney General, and the FTC. My experience is now part of their official record. Buyer beware. The owner (Kyle) of this establishment is dishonest! We purchased a 2016 Dodge Ram on 2/16. The advertisement stated the truck was equipped with a "20k direct mount 5th wheel hitch allowing for heavy duty towing capabilities," and noted the hitch cost $1,075 (see screenshot of ad). After test driving the truck and agreeing on a price, my husband checked under the bed cover and found there was no hitch installed. When he asked about it, he was initially told the hitch was not included. After referencing the advertisement, staff stated that an employee had taken the hitch home and would return it on Thursday. We were asked to come back to pick up both the hitch and the registration. On 2/19, my husband returned. He was presented with a hitch that did not fit the truck and was not a direct mount hitch as advertised. There was another hitch nearby that appeared compatible, but he was told that was not the one they were authorized to provide. After contacting the owner, he was informed that only the smaller hitch would be offered. My husband declined because it would not fit the truck and was not what was advertised. He was then offered $200 instead of the hitch, which he declined. We believe the advertised equipment should be honored as represented in the listing. If I could give them a negative star I would. I bought a car in January within 10 minutes of me leaving the lot the service transmission light came on. I called immediately and they told me to bring it back in the next morning. The next morning the car wouldn't even start I had to have it towed in on my dollar and take a cab home. It took them six times of having my car over a period of 45 days before they would change a transmission I had to have it towed in an additional time and had to pay for cabs $50 each direction seven times. After everything said and done the car does run however I do not have a valid license because they did not transfer my plates and rather got me new ones. They promised to correct the situation as in everything else they promise to do they did not do it. I bought a Mazda truck from this dealership online for $4,400 cash and paid $875 to a third party to ship it to Texas. I asked to have an independent shop inspect the vehicle before purchase, but they refused and only gave me a list of their own vendors. One vendor quoted me about $400 for diagnostics, which I declined. I even received a text from the dealership saying the truck was ready to be shipped. When the truck arrived, it turned out to need over $5,000 in repairs--$4,000 just to pass inspection, including a severely leaking gas tank. After informing the management team, their attitude was essentially, "too bad, sold as is." In less than two weeks, I've flushed away about $5,500 between the truck, shipping, and repairs, and now I'll have to scrap it, which was done one week after receiving the truck. DO NOT BUY a car at Lee Auto Group at 8181 Mainline Pkwy, Fort Myers, FL 33912. I unfortunately purchased a car on Weds. January 8 for $8,795.82 ($7K base price plus dealer extras, registration, title). Was told that the owner's friend was interested in buying the same vehicle so it had been gone over carefully, but the friend went in another direction. Was told the car was the "best on the lot in excellent mechanical/physical condition." We purchased and brought it home, washed the matts with a carpet cleaner. We just needed something for the winter months here in Florida where we come to avoid snow. In less than 24 hours and while taking a leisurely ride along the barrier islands, the car died 4 times with engine light going on. Scary as you all know how patient people are on the roads when you aren't moving at a green light. We returned to the Lee dealership off Alico Road, and a manager ensured me they would not leave me high and dry, that Lee stood by their sales, even though it was an "AS IS purchase. Besides the stalling I told them that it made a noise and seem to pull to the right. They said they would investigate and they addressed a sensor that turned the engine light off. I picked up the car. Sensing the pull and noise in the passenger front wheel, I brought the car to another garage, where they found 2 more engine codes, non-releasing brakes (hence the noise I was hearing). They also said that there were other issues, but they didn't all have to be addressed at once. Brought the car back to the Lee dealership. They did NOT find an issue with codes, but did replace the passenger front and rear brake calipers. Called me that I was all set to pick up the car. I showed up Tuesday which happens to be the Lee "team" meeting with Mr. Lee cussing, and discussing my issue while I waited to pick up car. The first time they had not charged me for changing a sensor (the initial visit back). I showed them the codes by the other garage, they said they found none of those codes. They charged me $255 for the brakes, telling me that they had said I would be responsible for anything they had to fix since it was a second visit, which they did not say to me earlier. Car noise stopped, so I invested in tinted windows for another $266.25 elsewhere. While installing the tints, the place did find that one of the rear windows (electric) was not working when they put in the tinted shades. I drove the car and it died 9 times on me, and the check engine lights returned. People hate the traffic on 41, and you can imagine the tooting horns I got with this lemon dying on a busy street. Lee Auto told me I could trade it in for the $7K, so I test drove a newer model, figuring that the extra $3K for purchase I could put on a loan and finance it. Problem, couldn't finance the first vehicle it was too old (red flag) couldn't finance the second as it was a salvage title. At this point I decided that I wasn't going to jump through hoops and get stuck with another problem vehicle. I asked them to buy it back. I asked what they would give me for my $7,000 car that I had added less than 100 miles. They wouldn't give me a price, and said I had to get it priced at CarMax. Lee said they would give me $500 more than whatever CarMax offered which was $1,500. A tad short of the $7,000 base price I paid. I had paid over 8K, I got 2K back on February 3rd. The walls are paper thin, and the door doesn't close all the way. I complained to the manager about being spoken about in this way, and to the head of service, telling them how unprofessional it is for a leader to berate customers and employees and they needed to move their meetings elsewhere or invest in soundproofing materials. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. This is the worst dealership and these folks are cons. They sold my 18 year old son a 2006 Honda Civic with 163,000 miles for about $6700 knowing that he does not know anything about car pricing and knowing that he is mentally challenged since I had called them at the time he was there to purchase the car. The street value of this car is less than $2000. If that wasn't bad enough, when my son brought the car home, there was NO OIL in the car and I immediately noticed the front brakes were completely gone, that is down to the rotor. Car did not even have a muffler in the back. I took the car to the shop and they gave me a $1400 estimate with the following safety issues. These are not mechanical defects, but major safety issues and anyone who knows even a little bit about cars can detect some of these conditions. A dealership certainly can. They don't care about a person's safety or whether they live or not. But the SALE must go thru. This is just initial inspection, there is probably a lot more. When I called the dealership to discuss these issues, they said it is not their problem. -$180 Front brakes down to the rotor. -$180 Rear brakes less than 30%. -$225 Engine oil leak in the valve cover gasket and VTEC solenoid gasket. -$515 Missing exhaust from rear and some other pieces are rotted out. -$190 Leaking Power Steering Fluid. read more

Was hoping to find my first car here, saw a listing for $6500 on a nice Nissan Sentra. Went to the lot and did all the business as usual, took it for a test drive, sales person was nice, no problem. Until we sat down at the desk. The salesman tells me he will give me the "best price" and to "wait a second so I can get a good deal". He walks back over and hands me a piece of paper. I look down and see a price of $11,480. Both me and my grandfather, (who is helping me work through the process of buying my first car) are stunned. We question the sticker price of the car now being $7,500, and not the listed price online. We get brought into the finance office and this is where my review stems from. This gentleman sits us down and tries to make jokes as if the price of the car I wanted to buy didn't just double. He then sits me down and tells me that in order to get the price online, I needed to finance the car AND have a trade in, and shows me the fine print on the listing online. Everything seemed friendly up front, but once we got into the paperwork, the price had magically jumped to $6,500 -- a $500 increase from the advertised price, with zero explanation or mention of it beforehand. Then came the junk fees: * $899 Dealer Service Fee - pure dealer profit, disguised as a "service." * $499 Electronic Transfer Fee - grossly inflated; DMV filing is cheap. * $199 Tag Agency Fee - padded fee for something that should cost a fraction. That's $1,597 in bogus fees, on top of the $500 upcharge -- meaning the total cost jumped over $2,000 more than expected. If I hadn't been closely reviewing the paperwork, I might have missed all of this. People who aren't mechanically inclined or familiar with car buying could easily fall into this trap. Second, they claim there's a $3500 "rebate qualification" they add. Even if I added this amount, the numbers still don't add up. Then when I told them this was sleazy salesman tactics, I was told to "Fuck off dick head". That this company attempted to tap into my credit report the beginning of the month as well as attempted to open auto insurance on a car. 6/3- Called in to receive an update and their phone system disconnects when they transfer. Hoping the car has been diagnosed or fixed otherwise the tow charge of 250-300 would be for nothing. Praying currently. 5/31-No call or update 5/30- I called near the end of day and Nicole let me know they hadn't looked at the car yet but would call later the same day or the next day. 5/29- My friend Nicole gave me a call and let me know the service team is eager to diagnose and repair and inquired to when I could get the car towed in for service. I explained I called around and were getting quotes around 200-300 which I cant afford. My father got me Triple A the same day so I had planned after the 72 hour "no benefits* window I would have the car towed in on Saturday or Maybe Monday as that way it wouldn't cost me anything. Nicole said how about we tow it in sooner? I explained I didn't have tow money and she said let me see what we can do. She called back saying they would have the car towed that same day and asked what I could spend for a tow. At the time of call I had 99.77 in my bank account. I just hope they can get to the vehicle the same week, otherwise whatever the tow charge is will have been for naught. 5/26 27 - left a voicemail but on the 27th I spoke to the dealership. The gentleman was very kind and said no worries, I'm going to transfer you to Blake in service and he will take care of you. IF the call drops call back and ask for Blake. The call did drop. I called back and got another nice guy, Paul. He told me he didn't think Blake was in to hold for transfer and the call dropped again. I imagine being a holiday they are just short staffed. I parked at a Dunkin/ racetrack center as I'm still in between living situations. My son had a dance recital and I picked him up from north cape and drove him to south cape. As I was parking the car stalled. After leaving the recital the car had the "wrench" symbol pop up on the dash and it began accelerating extremely slowly. When I got back to the boys mothers, I turned the car off to drop him off at the front door. When I got back to the vehicle it won't start. I began to fall apart and panic as this is the only means of transportation and housing I have currently. I called the group but they were closed which is understandable as it was a holiday weekend. So I left a voicemail. 5/15- I met with salesman George and with his helped we narrowed in on a vehicle that would work for me. I explained I recently became homeless after a break up and would be living out of the vehicle. Being a single dad struggling to make it I was happy they worked with me at all. The car was in my price range and my credit was the only thing good about me. I worked with Nicole in financing who was kind and had a few fun conversations over the time it took to get all documents and paper work signed. The car ended up being previously owned by a heavy smoker and I really didn't notice until I left the dealership. Not at all the staffs fault, I should've been more prepared and asked better questions. Overall the staff was welcoming kinda had a very honest "ma and pa" feel to it. Felt like I was working with one big family. The car I love, it's a 2009 Ford fusion with immaculate interior (minus the cigarette smell) and ice cold air. Nicest car I've been able to call mine in a while. If you are considering buying a used car, I do recommend them. They even offered a service contract on my silver stallion which I graciously accepted. read more

I wonder what the penalty is for a dealer charging sales tax and registration fees, but then the that dealer puts a hold on your registration because they say you owe them even more. I am going to find out! Also, the final price on the car was over $1000 more than the advertised cost. I am not talking about sales tax, these were dealer fees, but then they did not deliver on the registration, adding insult to injury. I justified this issue because you cannot know when a sensor will go out and Lee auto group placed the sensor in for me at no charge after I tracked 2 1/2 hours to get it. At that time I asked again was everything looked at. I specifically spoke with the GM and both mechanics and all three said the fuel filters had been changed. (I remember this conversation because it is an aftermarket fuel pump system and they were talking about the 2 filters in the pump system) ( there's actually 3 ) Fast forward to Monday, the truck would not start. We have it towed to our home, and a mobile mechanic comes to take a look. He pulled the fuel filter out from underneath the hood and it was horrible! The filter had never been changed and it seemed like a very long time! This tells me that the oil wasn't changed, the filters anywhere on the truck were not changed. Lee auto group will tell you anything to sell a vehicle. Use a lot of caution before purchasing a vehicle! When you pay over 30k you would think the filters to the fuel and oil would have been changed! I plan to consult a attorney. read more

I bought a used car from Lee Auto Group that was a lemon. After avoiding my calls for a month, they sent them to a full voicemail I had to stop down there and they said they would fix my car for cost. After having my car for 7 days, I picked it up and they did no repairs. They blamed it on the guy that quit the day I picked up my car, but I called there many times and they had plenty of time to fix my car. They did not even fix the paint repair on the bumper that was in my agreement. I am on my 4th visit to other auto repair shops and have estimates of over $10,000 in repairs for a car I paid $20,000. The convertible top does not even go down in which they told me it needed a position micro switch in which I ordered one for $400 and put it on and it didn't even fix the problem. 2 days after getting the car the battery went dead and the headlight cover that was glued on fell off. Parts for my car were expensive and hard to find since they don't make the car anymore. It has been a nightmare, do not buy a used car from them, they just buy cars and resells them without even fixing anything and they will not give you any compensation or anything. Buyer beware and don't agree to an as is car, get a 30 day warranty and bring the car to a repair shop to look it over. Had to get a new vehicle due my old one getting flooded out. Mike T. was most helpful. Told him my price range and what I was looking for. Found a vehicle which was perfect for me. Everyone works really hard to make the customer happy. Also "CJ" most helpful in getting me in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I went to buy a white suv that I saw on the website, but when I got there, they told me that they no longer have the white SUV available and they had me test drive a red SUV and told me just to paint it white. I left my name and number with them several times they would always have an excuse saying would get back to me, but they never did. I could never get a straight answer from them about pricing or the vehicle that I was interested in. Even though they told me they no longer had the white vehicle available, it's still on the website for sale. read more

I'm SOOO disappointed. Rushed to buy something after Ian. TRUSTED the sales mgr which lives in my neighborhood. I stupidly bought a car quickly, (BUYER BEWARE). Paid upfront, STUPIDLY. (Told he was afraid it would be resold???) Was told light in dash would be fixed. NO PAPERWORK given. Guy took car back to "fix" issue. Kept a month. He only returned it when I told him my daughter was coming in two days later and would like the car. All of a sudden the part was in and the car was ready. She drove it and said no Sim card, no coolant a disaster. I've spent almost $20,000 on a car that I have issues with. Would not recommend. read more
