We had a horrible experience here and unfortunately, were it not for the pleasant interior and…read moreview, I'd not even give it one star (unfortunately not possible here on Yelp). Seriously, avoid this place if you can. Let me list what went wrong. First, we were seated in an almost empty restaurant right next to a family with a young boy and an infant. Obviously my wife and I were here to have a quiet dinner and not to sit right next to loud patrons. Tons of other tables were free. We asked for one and were told it wasn't available. We ended up taking another near the entrance from the hotel side and it was OK view wise but none of the tables we wanted were ever actually put to use. The restaurant never filled up to more than five tables I believe. The seat I was on was supposedly for one person but there was a divider or something right in the middle, i.e. it was uncomfortable and a joke for this type of restaurant. Second, after getting done with the whiny, high-pitched voice women who seats you, our waitress took forever to come and ask for our drink selections and then again for our food order. She didn't really seem interested to be serving us and seemed to disappear often (for what I am presuming were outdoor cigarette breaks). She was definitely not a trained waitress and in this price range unacceptable. We never received a bread basket. No big deal but when I asked for one the response was "oh, I forgot!" No "I'm sorry" or anything like that. Just "I forgot". Seriously, that's the best you can do? Mind you, we were still being polite at this point. Drinks arrived and I have to say this was the worst glass of wine I've ever had for 9 Euro. Seriously, there are table wines that cost 2 Euro a bottle that are worlds-apart better than this crap they serve. Avoid the wines!!! Food? Skip it. I had the entrecôte with "waffle potatoes". I had no idea what that was and was intrigued. You know what I got? Cold potato chips. They were kind of moist too. This is a joke folks! The meat was garbage too and served with potato chips. There are grill imbisses that do this better! Dessert? Are you kidding me. We couldn't wait to get out of here. Asked for the bill. It took forever as well for it to come. Was handed to us without a comment. I expressed my complaints about the food and service...politely, trying to give constructive feedback as my wife made me stay calm. Response? "Oh, OK". Nothing more came out of her mouth. Enough of this place. Won't ever be back and hope lots of you skip it so they get their act together. We had a wonderful stay at the Budersand but this place is a blight on the horizon up from the hotel. So much potential but literally off the deep end because of what I am presuming to be horrible management and inexperienced staff.

Service was nice and attentive, both during reservation and actual service, though I would have preferred the staff to stay more in the background. In summary, this is a nice, quiet alternative to the crowded restaurants in Westerland, and highly recommended for everyone seeking to have nice food at a reasonable price with a great view.

Delicious Food in a trendy spot on Samoa Beach Sylt. Not as "commercialized" like Sansibar Sylt,…read morebut cool, relaxed -and sponsored by Porsche, not Mercedes like Sansibar. What else? Real good food, great choice of wines, perfect Service. A good place to be on Sylt!

We ended up coming here twice in our short stay on Sylt. How lucky were we to find this place first…read morebefore actually going to S....bar! That place is so over-hyped and crap! This place on the other hand is truly stand-out good. We came once for dessert and coffee plus once for dinner. I highly recommend reserving a table if you want to come for dinner as it gets full. Further, there are two separate rooms. The back room is a bit quieter and the front room somewhat more lively but this place isn't noisy and annoying like that other place. You have a view of the dune/beach outside from almost all tables. Come around sunset and you get the best "show" through the windows. Service is impeccable. We had the bald dude with the beard (sorry, didn't catch his name) both days as our waiter. He was super nice, helpful with advice on the menu and very attentive. The way it should be. No arrogance or shi-shi posturing. Just a good guy! The rest of the staff were the same. There's the guy with the slicked back hair who seems to be the manager or the owner and he too was always polite and welcoming. I wasn't expecting this at all but in summary, service was top-notch from start to finish both times we were here. The food is awesome. We had the chocolate cake the first day and this was a great dessert accompanied by some great wine recommendations. For dinner we both had fish and it was one of the better meals I have had when it comes to seafood. Really like the way their food is prepared and it isn't gourmet restaurant small, i.e. you actually are not hungry after the main course. Again, food too was top-notch and we had zero complaints. I'd recommend going mostly for seafood but it's your typical German, high-end menu with a mix of meat, fish and pasta dishes. Finally, the parking at this place is far closer to the main entrance. You don't have to trudge up the hill (a small inconvenience but nevertheless) like at the other place and no, there isn't an idiotic VIP shuttle here to ferry the lazy-a$$ posers to their door. The outdoor deck was a bit too cold for our taste this time around but I am sure it is wonderful on warmer days. The beach is a short walk down from the entrance too if you want to combine a beach day and lunch or whatever. This place is solid and so much more worth your while. Good people, great location and wonderful food. We will be back!
