This is the only facility with hydro rider- a spin class in the pool. It fills up fast, so call and reserve a bike, and bring your own towel. Cansler is a great facility and the Y staff is very friendly. On my visits, it was not as crowded as my usual Y and parking was not a problem. It's a shared lot with O'Connor Senior Center and there's an overflow lot across Jessamine. Just remember to bring your towel as they don't have towels. I highly recommend Cansler if you are looking for a fitness canter

All of that BS on top of the horrible parking situation where you'll pay $50 a month to get parking tickets, disgusting locker rooms, constant early closures and broken equipment. We got off to a pretty good start at home. House training was quick and basic "sit" and "down" commands came fairly easily to her. Ruby is a Lab/Pit mix and I mistakenly diagnosed as aggression what actually was resource guarding. I've had dogs constantly for over 30 years and have done pretty well with basic training on my own, but this whole resource guarding thing was new to me and I knew that I needed real help by someone who understood Miss Ruby. I am so thankful that I met Scottie Greene. His approach of training the trainer, as well as the dog, was exactly what Ruby and I both needed. I used to have to keep her on a 30 foot lead rope when we went outdoors at home, to give her room to have a little bit of freedom to play. Now, she gets to go outside and run full speed ahead with no lead and without the e-collar. She loves being able to run freely and I love seeing her happy. I can now take Ruby anywhere with me and she behaves like a perfect dog. (I may be a bit biased, but I'm convinced that she IS a perfect dog!) Ruby's last training class was at a restaurant with Scottie and his wife Karrie and 2 of my best friends. With the exception of our group and the waiter, I don't think that anyone else in the restaurant even knew that Ruby was under the table. We have since gone on to get Ruby certified as an AKC CGC and Urban CGC dog. I can't say enough good things about Scottie, Karrie, and Sandra. They are all top notch trainers. This is the primary location where my family works out, takes fitness classes, and swims/does…read moreswimming lessons. We love that there is both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The family membership is affordable and worth it if you have young children who can utilize the child watch while adults exercise. There is a great variety of group fitness classes to meet differing interests and fitness levels. We really enjoy the swimming lessons as well. We have done private, semi-private and group and they really helped our kids with water skills and confidence. Lessons fill up quickly, so start checking mid-month for the next round of lessons to spring up on the website. This location isn't the most modern or well-kept. There seem to be lots of issues when it rains, and the layout is very strange. The small-ish workout/weights space is accessed by first going downstairs and then back up another set of stairs in the back of the building. There is also a musty/moldy smell that kicks up our allergies at times.

Unfortunately this location is very poorly managed. It's a shame because the facilities are pretty…read moregood, but the schedule may as well not exist because it is rarely updated/accurate. It's a nice small gym and never gets packed. It has pretty much everything you need to get a good workout in. It also has a strong sense of gym culture and community.
