Even though my friend and I didn't know any German the staff helped explain the different menu items and even gave great suggestions on deserts. I had a delicious variety of fresh fruits, sliced meats, cheeses, bread, and the pairing of mozzarella, tomato, and basil. I've never eaten a more satisfying breakfast in my life! My friend got the vegan platter which was also super yummy (even though I'm not a vegan I enjoyed the platter as well). Both dishes were fresh and flavorful and the desert was to die for! I got a lemon cake that was just the right amount of tart and sweet. My friend got the chocolate cake and she says that's the best cake she's ever eaten and she's super critical of her chocolate cakes so I trust her. The atmosphere was so homey and cozy we literally talked for 3 hours and had no idea that much time had passed. The prices are great for the quantity and quality of food you buy. I highly recommend to anyone in the area and we will be stopping by here again!

I've stopped by whenever I wanted a relaxing place to work with friends--the fact that you can buy food and alcohol makes the work go by even quicker! +1 for the city's freewheeling, entrepreneurial spirit because if my experiences are anything to go by, no one at Prachtwerk will raise an eye if you 1. order a cocktail in the early afternoon or 2. hunker down for a few hours. I found the drink prices to be relatively standard for Berlin as a whole, but they might be a little expensive for Neukölln: €7 for the Adult Lemonade (lavender lemonade with either gin or vodka) and €6.50 for a gin and tonic. Chase it down with a slice of one of their delicious cheesecakes. (I'm partial to the Oreo one.) Hint: grab a seat on one of the elevated couches that overlook the stage at the end of the venue. I enjoyed the Mmaah whole fruit tea (with lemon slices), which stems from a collaboration with the nearby Mmaah restaurants. The owner/architect is friendly and welcoming. For the big thirst (or better the big party) they offer XXL-size cocktails which are all above 1 litre. As smoking in food-serving places is prohibited in Germany they have a special room for smokers. If you are sensitive you will smell it in the non-smoking area anyways.
