    Cook Virginia I

My partner and I recently purchased a house and Virginia Cook happened to be both the executrix and…read moreestate attorney for the property. As the seller, she was incredibly difficult to deal with as far as negotiations go; however, I suppose I would also try to get as much as I could out of a deal and this review is not regarding that process. Our closing was scheduled for 1:30 at the Howard Hanna RIDC location. At 1:45 the person who was handling the paperwork came down and apologized for the delay stating that Virgina was refusing to show up because there was one line on the HUD 1 that she couldn't understand. It was regarding taxes that would have effected us, the buyer, not her, the seller. She said she was not showing up until this line was changed. The woman doing the paperwork said she explained the situation to her several times and the reason why it had to be the way it was, but she just was not understanding and was just being overall unreasonable. She also told Howard Hanna that those papers HAD BETTER be prepared when she walked in. At 3:00 she finally decides to traipse in without apology dripping with attitude How incredibly unprofessional. Not to mention the fact that the line that she didn't understand seemed as simple as pie to me and I am by no means an estate attorney. If she handles her own personal affairs with this blatant disregard, I couldn't imagine how she would handle someone she didn't even know, i.e. a new client. Also, she should have just been there on time at 1:30 and discussed it from there rather than waste mine, my partners, my realtors as well as the paperwork person's time.
