We went to the bar on the right most side and waited for 45 min only for the bar tender to tell us she did not serve the trash cans on that side. (NOTE: The other bar was not busy. The bar tender did not have the required drink on hand to finish the other customers order and made everyone wait while she filtered with the customers waiting for security to bring her the other drinks). We then proceeded to the other bar which was packed. We asked the bar tender for two drinks -- a miller light and a "trash can", but before even given the chance to specify which one he was off making the trash can drink. He then comes back and says it will be 17$. When we asked for the cost break down he specified that when we said trash can he assumed we meant the most expensive one on the menu and not the one that everyone else was order (the special). When we asked him to rectify this he threatened to get security to kick us out (we didn't even want our money back just the other trash can because he decided to pick the WORST DRINK ON THE MENU). On the upside a very nice security guard was kind enough to refund us the money for our drinks out of his OWN POCKET. If you are coming from out of town and need a place to go DO NOT COME here, the bartender makes it a scam.

This was our first visit to XL Live and we were impressed with the venue as a whole. There is…read moreplenty of parking, which is nice.The employees were all friendly and professional, which is appreciated.  The interior is spacious and divided into 3 main areas and the second floor VIP section. The place was clean and had plenty of rest room facilities. The prices for drinks were reasonable for this type of venue and the selection of beers and liquors was above average.  The one complaint we had was the amount of distortion with the music that night. We've heard the band many times, but on this night both acts we had difficulty hearing the vocals as they were muffled/distorted. I'm not sure what the issue with the sound board was this evening, but in a premiere music venue, this should never be an issue.  We will definitely return to XL live in the future and hope the sound system was just a one off night.

So they flaunt this insane dress code, but all of us got in...some of us had on buttons ups...others a hoodie. So, don't be scared to show up here after a paintball match or something. The DJ was sick and the club itself looked nice...but no one really danced and there were a lot of dead spots throughout the place...the spots where people were dancing. I really wish i could remember the DJs name. REESE. There we go...I googled: vision bar dj she. And it came up...she was sick. I wouldn't come back here FYI....I think it's cool that you can come across young AND old people here though...i just wish everyone would dance. And that they wouldn't let that spotlight roam about so freely.

When did they start that? Why? To kill off their business obviously. The door man told us we'd have to wait a few minutes to "clear some people out," so I'm thinking it's packed and poppin'. Cleared out, yes, poppin', no. Basically, I will return again only if: I'm too drunk to remember why I shouldn't go here or if I have a date I want to dance with alone on the dance floor. My best friend, who lives locally, told us about the place. We were hesitant leaving the comfort of 2nd street, but we followed her down Pine Street and stopped at the entrance to "Madam Knock's Pine Street Beauty Parlor." After giving the bouncer the weekly password (this can be found on their facebook /knock.hbg, twitter @knock_hbg, or instagram @knock_hbg), we went up a flight of stairs and entered the Beauty Parlor. The Beauty Parlor was set up perfectly, and after giving the password one more time, the bookshelf vanished to the side.... and TA DA! We entered the Speakeasy, a whole new world. The music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, people were dancing, the lights were low, and we were in for a good time. The entire bar/ club has a Prohibition-era style fashion with dark hardwood floors, lots of purple, and chandeliers. The bar was located all the way to the back, which is also where the exit is. There is a dance floor in the middle, and centered is a DJ. There are a few seating areas in addition to the VIP sections. I think there was a total of 3 VIP sections which ran about $250 + per a night. The drinks were fruity and presented well- I wish I could comment on the price, but I really can't recall. You can browse their drink menu on their website. Knock is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until 2 AM. This is a Harrisburg MUST.

The guitar and half the voices are on an amp that plays to the main room speakers, which are behind the stage front so that people in the front few rows have no hope of hearing them. Wow. My performance time was all bass and drum, with a little backup vocal mixed in. Anyway it's otherwise your standard venue, bar in the middle, some tables out back. A lot of room outside! Most of the people here tonight were well back from the stage and now I know why. That's not my style, so this isn't my venue. Plus side??: security barely glanced at my ticket. Totally could have copied someone else's for free. Totally could have brought in weapons, drugs... I didn't but honestly venues should have a LITTLE security for concerts. Sigh.
