Absolutely Awesome!!! Let's face it leather furniture is an expensive investment and needs to be properly cleaned and conditioned. I knew I just didn't have the strength or the knowledge to do it right so I wanted a professional to take care of it. Chris is amazing and his work spectacular. To be honest my sectional looks better now than the day it was delivered. He didn't rush the job, took his time and went back over the whole sectional again on both the cleaning and conditioning. So Chris was on Time-Professional-Reasonable Priced-Extremely Personable-Did a Spectacular Job, soooo do I Recommend him-Yep in a Heartbeat and this review comes from a Clean Freak that is rarely a Happy Camper read more

I wish I could give them 10 stars! Our family room sectional from Creative Leather was really showing wear from our dogs being on the couch all the time (big mistake on our part)! We love the couch, the style and the color, and it was pretty expensive when we bought it a few years ago. My wife and I were sad about the prospects of having to spring for a new couch so soon, but the leather on the couch was beginning to look shabby and worn. Happily, a family member referred us to the Leather Guru. I got in touch with Chris and arranged a time for him to renew our couch. What a great surprise!!! We have what looks like a brand new couch! Scratches gone, and color matched PERFECTLY!! Chris was very diligent and really focused on making the couch look new, and leaving the area around the couch spotless! See the pics below for a 'before and after'. If you have a leather couch in need of restoration, you can have Chris rescue it and make it look brand new! Or, you can decide to spend $7000+ for a new couch! Highly, highly recommended!! read more

We called the Leather Guru (Chris) after I used an inferior leather cleaner to polish up two leather swivel chairs. The product I used is a very popular over the counter cleaner / conditioner spray. Unfortunately it removed the die in a large spot of the chairs arm. My wife was PI$$ED at me!! Chris made a house call and not only made that spot look brand new again....but also touched up about four more places on both chairs that he saw needed attention! I see now why he calls himself "Guru". His handy work was super clean, and transformational! See attached pics. His prices are fair and frankly, saved us thousands not having to go replace the chair. Thank you Chris !! read more

We have two very loved and comfortable lazy boy leather recliners that were getting more than rough looking. They had patina, a few small tears in the seams and a damaged spot from nail polish remover. We considered buying two new recliners but didn't have the heart to do it. We did some research and found Chris from Leather Guru. He restored our recliners and another chair perfectly and they are all beautiful again. We are SO happy with Chris the Leather Guru and would recommend him without hesitation. read more

My husband and I have two 30 year old leather recliners that we have loved; very comfortable but with discoloration, tears, and squeaks. We didn't want to replace them, but they needed some intense TLC. Today we had Chris from LEATHER GURU work his magic! The chairs are LIKE NEW! He is professional, personable, knows his craft. We spent the holidays with our son in Tempe, and were shocked to find that his leather couch had been nearly destroyed by his rescue dog Luna. We had thought it might be beyond repair, but found Chris through Yelp reviews. Chris spent most of the day on the repair to both arms and the back cushion and back of the couch (the cushions are sewn in and not removable, making the work even more difficult). In addition, he conditioned the leather throughout the couch. He was easy to reach by texting and phone, and showed up on time. He did the work onsite, which was nice too. We thought the price was reasonable, considering the effort and time it took. Chris also advised our son on ways to deter his dog from damaging the couch again, but made no guarantees on that - we'll see! Chris can legitimately wear the mantle of The Leather Guru. We can't recommend him enough, and our son is thrilled with his Christmas present. read more

Thank you, Chris for fixing my couch. It looks great and I am looking forward to getting many more years of use. Chris was able to repair the rips on my leather sectional that appeared because my young children were using it as a slide. For the past 7 years, anytime we had people over, I had to strategically place blankets over these tears. I can't believe it took me this long to get them repaired. If you are in need of leather furniture repair, I highly recommend Leather Guru. read more

We gave Chris a call about our 3 year old couch. The cushions had completely gone flat and needed to be restuffed. Within a few days he was able to get us a quote we were comfortable with and have them stuffed and ready to pick up. He also made sure the new foam was higher quality then what came with the couch originally and explained why this was. He perfectly fit the new foam inside the covers so we wouldn't deal with sagging material anymore. We were really impressed with his craftsmanship and professionalism. Plus he was really easy going, we never felt we were dealing with an obnoxious sales person who just wants you to get the most expensive product. We'll definitely be giving him a call for our matching chair cushion once it needs the foam replaced. read more

We have a unique 18 year-old Ralph Lauren leather chair and ottoman. It has beautiful stitching and looks custom. Unfortunately, years and the sun had taken a toll on our poor chair ensemble. We called Chris, and he did a great job of repairing 4 major rips for us. He also is chasing down a leather cleaner/conditioner- he says is the best he has tried- to help maintain our old, and our newer, leather pieces. Finally, he referred us to a leather specialist who will be able to remake the seat cushion for our chair. Great stuff- thanks! read more

Chris transformed our leather sofa, love seat and recliner. This furniture was passed on to us, but it had been in a basement and was heavily soiled. As a result, the finish on the leather was damaged, requiring a complete restoration of its finish. Chris repaired and refinished this furniture, and it now looks brand new! He was focused and worked meticulously until the project was completed. He is a skilled craftsman who knows the behavior of leather and how to artfully treat it. In addition to his skill set, Chris is a pleasant and articulate person. He disappears into his work and is non-obtrusive. I recommend Chris without question and will call on him again if we need future leather work. Marcia R. read more

Chris was friendly and professional. He estimated the repairs to be between $400 - $500. The repairs cost $500. He worked for about 7 hours on the damaged furniture. First red flag... Leather Guru took 8 days to reply to my Yelp Quote Request. Second red flag... their response: "Sorry, I don't provide this service." Not only is Chris a great guy, my husband and I are in awe of his work. We have a 9 year old very nice leather sofa that is super comfortable, and because it was cracking and looking so bad, we started to shop for a brand new one. After looking at crazy overpriced possible replacements we didn't love, we looked into recovering it. That didn't seem worth it either. I found Chris while googling options by chance and read these reviews. He came over to evaluate, and I decided to give repair a chance, although not thoroughly convinced it was going to work. Wow. As my husband said, the sofa looks better than when it was on the showroom floor. We were able to keep the sofa we love, and we are so glad we found him! read more

My wife and I were tired of looking at our chocolate leather sofa in the family room. Oily heads, pets and wear had really made it an eyesore in some spots. A new sofa was over $4000 so we looked at Leather Guru. Our experience was just great for the following reasons: 1. Chris Helms (480-414-3005) was contacted via email, and he responded very in a very timely manner. He asked us to send pictures of the sofa and the worn spots. We did so. 2. He responded with a price for the repair work, set a time that he would be at our home. 3. Lo and behold, he was on time...personable, confident and very willing to explain what he was going to do. After 60-90 minutes, he was through...he gave us the "ground rules" for taking care of it, and left with a smile. It was great to see that he had great pride in a job well done. 4. This is the place to go for making worn spots on leather chairs, sofas or loveseats go away. He is a one man company, with pride and does great work. Give him a chance to make you smile. read more

I called for a quote to have a small 3/4 x 1 inch hole repaired in the side of my vinyl sofa and was quoted 125.00 to repair it. I explained that it was a very small hole and the nice gentleman said that this was a minimum cost for this kind of repair. I ended up calling American furniture to send the repair tech and it cost me 48.00 total for the repair start to finish. This company was very respectful and although was more than I was willing to pay. I was told that the repair supplies cost only a few dollars. I must be fair and say that of the 4 estimates I did receive, they were the lowest and that being said, I will not hesitate to call Leather Guru for a quote on a larger repair. As I spoke to Chris, he seemed very knowledgeable and spoke very professionally. Although I did not use them, I think he is deserving of the chance to try. read more
