The place itself was very cute and it seemed very fun for children. They had a pretty cool facility with a nice playground area and the classrooms looked fun and clean. The programs they had seemed really good and it was surprising to me that they even had daycare for infants. The pricing also seemed fair which they had several options. The only thing that was displeasing was some of the staffs appearances was off. I understand not everyone can dress the part but there was staff that looked like they just rolled out of bed, one guy in a classroom who was the obvious teacher/staff was sitting there rolling and twiddling his hair with the children just looking for his attention. I also noticed a lady who instructed the dance portion of the day had grabbed a little girl by her arm and displayed somewhat of aggression and frustration. Look I get it it's hard watching kids and many at that but it just didn't sit right with me. I don't doubt this place is great I was just turned off and couldn't see myself being secure in dropping my 1 year old here.

Being a first time mom I was of course apprehensive about leaving my baby for the first time but Kiddie Academy has been absolutely great and I feel very comfortable with her in their care. The teachers take lots of pictures/videos for me throughout the day and you just get a vibe that they treat the kids like "their own." The facility is brand new and the rooms are very spacious. I especially like how they have the cribs separated from the play area in the "baby" rooms. I saw lots of daycares where everything was in one big room and there was no separation of sleep area and play area..that has to make it hard for the babies to get good naps. There is a splash pad and play area outside as well which I bet the older kids love. Tuition is comparable to what you would pay at other curriculum based daycares in San Antonio.

My 3-year-old attended this daycare for almost 3 months and in this time his behavior took a turn…read morefor the worst. First, we were excited about the engagement we had hoped my son would have, he came home with worksheets to practice writing and tracing, we loved that but unfortunately the screen time allowed in this facility is excessive and was creating issues with his sleep habits and ultimately his behavior at home was becoming challenging we believe to be due to the excessive screen time. During the tour we were told the screen in the room was for educational videos and for music to be played for the children to dance to and sing along with. The daily report provided that my son was watching Jack Hartman for teaching American sign language, but the exposure to screen time far exceeded this. My son was coming home stating he had watched cartoons like Cocomelon, chu chu tv, etc. During Halloween my son started to fear jack o lanterns from something they showed the kids, he was even shown the Michael Jackson thriller video which the teacher claims was an "accident" ... after talking to the teacher to figure out what had happened, it became clear that they are just letting YouTube play the next videos without supervising what is being shown. We met with the Asst Director Ms Ashley and the Owner, Dr. Koshi (spelling?) and unfortunately our concerns fell on deaf ears. I wanted to know what the process was for picking these videos that are not educational and why parents aren't being told what their kids are watching and why their daily report is providing false information on what my child is being exposed to. We even reported that on several occasions when picking up our son as the teachers were bringing the kids in from outside that the teachers were asking the kids what they wanted to watch, and kids were asking for spiderman and frozen etc. On several occasions the screen was moved to a corner so that the parents couldn't see what was being shown. During thanksgiving they showed the movie the Wild robot without letting parents know this was going to be shown, the film is rated PG. They also showed them how the Grinch stole Christmas the Jim Carrey film which is also PG. I was never consulted or made aware about what my son would be watching or had watched. The use of the screens and the way the administration handled our concerns is very shady, for the price you pay for childcare and with their claims to be an educational facility to prepare children for school I do not trust that they are a good option for families that care about the quality of care and learning.

Let me be the first to reality check this ridiculous place. The parents should be aware that not…read moreonly is it soon to be sold, but the turnover that "all daycares experience" and "training new teachers" seems to happen nearly on a monthly basis here. I won't name names (the owners know who they are), It's like any other failing company: It begins from the top down. Take a good hard look beyond the facade and a couple positive reviews on this platform. Do you really trust three or four reviews in several years for your child anyway? You may like what you see on the surface but likely because there is a significant lack of decent programs in this area. Older children may not be as affected but the 1-3 age group is undeniably neglected. The "owner" who seems to carry this flag in some altruistic manner is not only rude, but a complete flop. Never present in almost a year we have only met upper management twice. If there was ever an issue to discuss, good luck addressing it. Yes. These facilities are for sale and probably will be sold to a different management group for the same reason they couldn't keep staff there. We quickly began to feel uncomfortable leaving our child here. I care VERY little of a company's "difficulties", especially if it is to keep staff employed. Staffing isn't staffing when it comes to the well being of your child. To them this means employees. To you this means leaving your child with a stranger. If this is in the 1-3 age group who can't speak for themselves I take this very seriously. A stranger to you, and a stranger to your child. This happened all too often. Most of the permanent teachers are decent, who just so happened to call in sick more often than not. Likely because of a lack of resources and poor management. Personally, I don't give a ---- about excuses, Especially when it comes to my children. At this age group, when I leave my child in the care of someone else, I expect them to be taken care of by the same people each and every day, or at least individuals they know so that they (and we) feel safe and comfortable. This is why we're no longer there. It is your child that stays here, not you. We experienced teachers (subs) who not only left us feeling uncomfortable, but were downright reportable. Never under any circumstances should a day care operate in the manner that they have. Particularly worse than that, the management staff (if you can find them) is not capable of managing this. If any staff remains by the time they finish treating everyone like garbage, your child won't see yet another stranger. As a customer you are a number and god willing you will get help that you may seek with the buyout. Good luck to them in the future, though I don't really mean that. If good intentions are what they seek, they wouldn't have neglected their business, especially a business where the well being of our sons and daughters are at stake. A very holier than thou attitude by management and a reason most staff is jumping ship. Customer beware.

Jeanette the "director" is hardly ever in her office or there in general. I withdrew her due to them never communicating I was behind a week of payment because she did not attend after she got sick after having her there 1 week. This was my first time putting my child in any type of child care since she had been born and this was a terrible experience. I thought that because I paid out of pocket that I can trust that these people actually cared about the well being of children and not just money but this is far from the truth. The office staff is always lounging eating by the front while the teachers seem to be busting their butts in the classroom. The director never even called me to explain or even apologize on the lack of communication based on THEIR part. They make you do a $300 enrollment/app/ and supplies when you first enroll. Again my daughter never even got a cubby and they were unprepared for her the first day we took her. Don't give this place your money invest it somewhere they actually care.
