I attended Kweller Prep from fourth to fifth grade, and it significantly shaped my academic life. I was accepted to HCHS after taking their Hunter Exam programs, and benefited significantly from the help I received at Kweller during that time. Now, I've come back to tutor at Kweller Prep-the families I work with, the students I teach, and the academic and personal improvement I see within each is a daily reminder of why I love the art of learning. I have Frances Kweller, Ben Davidov, and the whole team at Kweller to thank for everything.

I would not have done as comprehensive a job had I prepared him myself. Kweller provided the structure necessary to get the work done. The weekend check-in created a the deadline. We found the nightly homework more useful than the Zoom, but that could be individual preference. The homework helped highlight what areas my son needed work on. Also, it was helpful to have him practice sitting for a long test. It's not magic. It's practice, practice, practice. Don't expect a child to manage this by themselves. There was quite a bit of parental involvement until we were accustomed to the pacing and log-in. I'm happy we chose to use Kweller and I would use them again.

When we were first looking at daycares, The Learning Station was the only spot to respond to us…read more.. so we didn't have much choice but it was a blessing. The classroom is located on the 1st floor of a small residential building and might not be as fancy or obvious as the other large daycares, but they are clean, attentive, consider safety, and have everything toddlers need to grow and learn. They try hard to keep costs reasonable. My son (18mos) has been attending TLS since he was 6 months old and from the very start, he has loved it there! Every week he learns something new, and you can tell that Miss Cira and her staff put a lot of energy and thought into every kid's individual development. I love that the place is small, so we know each child gets lots of attention & the staff have a good understanding of each personality. They are also flexible with drop-off/pick-up times as long as it's between 8a-6p - which is perfect coverage for two parents with full-time jobs. They helped my baby build muscles to crawl, stand, walk, and now he's coming home reciting ABCs, counting, and building his vocabulary (mostly verbal English but some Spanish & basic ASL too)! Best of all, they've taught him to tidy up after himself so even at home just puts toys back when he's done with them... when he sees toys, pacifiers, or books on the floor (even the dog's toys lol) he says, 'uh oh!' and picks it up to put away or give to a grown-up (or dog)! He even wipes the table after himself and can wipe his nose/face (very convenient), and loves washing his hands. It doesn't get much better than that. At drop-off he sits at the door waiting for it to open & then runs inside without a backwards glance. At pick-up, he sometimes cries and runs back into the classroom because he's having too much fun to leave! While they're not the most consistent with communication/photos, Miss Cira will happily chat at pick-up or drop-off and texts for any questions or updates. I personally do not need constant photo updates since I'd rather the staff concentrated on the kids' activities and safety (vs. being distracted trying to get daily pics of every child) so just occasional photos works for us. I assume if some parents want more frequent updates, they'll provide that. We trust TLS and are very happy that our little one is excited for school every day.

From the very first day we were greeted with warmth and love, as if it was our second family. During drop-offs my oldest son always walked in confidently and happy. My husband and I also walked away with confidence and peace of mind that our son was being taken care of by highly responsible, loving and professional people and in a safe and secure place. We also knew that he would have an amazing learning experience and great so is interactions with other children. Now, our youngest (infant) son attends and we can honestly say we still hold those strong feelings. Our youngest son cannot wait to go everyday! Its a great sign when he gives me his jacket to put on every morning! I cannot say enough about the program itself, they are always up to something so creative through arts and crafts projects, sensory play and even seasonal food making. I have and will continue to recommend families to send their children here!

Her teachings and classes have shaped many children's lives and produced very diligent and creative thinkers. Some students have gone to prestigious art high schools and colleges, and won art competitions with Mrs. Ma's help. Others students who just thought of art as a hobby, were able to open their minds and gain new experiences through art. Mrs. Ma has taught me much not only about art but also about myself as a person. Many of my friends who took classes had great experiences. She really cares about her students! I implore those interested to visit in person. The studio has an annual art show which showcase all of the wonderful art the students make. For example, my son sings "Row, Row, Row Your Boat song" while washing his hands. I like how my son is socializing more with other children his age and that the daycare has a monthly theme based curriculum, where they teach them about topics such as, Food, Lights, Transportation, Community Helpers, Animals, Plants, etc. He is learning new words and his listening skills are improving day by day. Also, I really like the art work and pictures the teachers take of my son. He is only two years old and there is also parent teacher conferences held for my son and reports given out. Also, take home activities I can do with my son is provided, which I can practice reading, writing, singing and doing fun activities with him during the weekends. My son is also in the process of being potty trained and I feel the center helps me make sure my son is developing appropriately according his age and the developmental milestones. If my son is going through a tantrum or having trouble eating the staff provided positive feedback and information to help me solve the issue. The staff is consistent, nurturing, loving, and caring to my son. I trust the staff with my son and I feel safe to have him at the center. Phenomenal Place!…read more My toddler daughter has just about completed her first year at the Learning Tree. She is in the 2 year old class and we just enrolled her in the 3 year old class for September. In addition I just enrolled her in their summer camp! This is not a daycare, but a school. When first arriving, my child was going through early intervention services for speech, vision, and occupational therapy. Her enrollment at the school only enhanced her learning and the staff at the Learning Tree have been top notch in her care and well being. She has thrived in their environment and I cannot imagine taking her anywhere else! She is babbling up a storm and no longer needs early intervention services under their care. Abe, Brett, Collette and the several attentive staff have become like my toddler's family while she is at school. I would highly suggest you stop by the school and speak with the staff, take a tour and speak with the parents. We count ourselves lucky we were blessed with such a great school for our child. It's the best beginning for her schooling we could ever ask for.

She'll be graduating and moving on to kindergarten next fall, and we're all so sad about it! Magic Years has been an amazing environment for her, and she's absolutely flourished. The teachers and the director are all kind and loving and so great with kids. A huge added bonus is that almost all of them speak Mandarin to the kids, so my little 4-year-old is now at least partially fluent in Mandarin with a flawless accent. They have regular Chinese lessons and celebrate Chinese holidays, which is has been a really cool cultural experience to participate in. They also have a yoga teacher, a ballet teacher, and a piano teacher come in for various enrichment classes with the kids. The piano lessons are a small incremental fee but totally worth it. The teachers take the older kids to the nearby playground when the weather's nice, and sometimes they have little field trips (to the Elmhurst library, around the neighborhood to identify plants, to the train station to learn about transportation). They've also had guest speakers come in--a firefighter came in to talk to the kids about fire safety during a section on community helpers. The education has really been top notch. My kid is only 4, and recently she came home and recited the entire water cycle (complete with 3-syllable words) to me: "Mommy, do you know about evaporation - condensation - precipitation?" Another time, during a section about light, she pronounced and defined the words transparent, translucent, and opaque, and then proceeded to walk around the apartment identifying things that were transparent, translucent, and opaque. I nearly fell over! These teachers rock. They also basically did 100% of the work of potty training, which is fantastic. The school does early drop-off (7:30 a.m.) and late pick-up (6 p.m. or later). On most of the days that UPK is not in session, the daycare part of the school is open, so I'm rarely in a childcare bind. They feed the kids breakfast (if you do early drop-off) and lunch and snack. They also have discounts for siblings! The only challenge is that there's a bit of a language barrier (some of the teachers speak better English than others), but with a bit of patience you can make yourself understood and vice versa. Absolutely add Magic Years to the consideration set of daycares/pre-K's for your child!
