I was serious this time about getting clean. Was trying to take advantage of any and all my…read moreresources to be able to do that. I got great insurance through my job and was trying to get into new hope. What they don't tell you is that there is an admission fee of $1600 that is over and above what they charge your insurance for. I told them I didn't have 1600 dollars just lying around and I don't know any other addict in Modesto that can afford that on their own. But if you don't have the 1600, you can't get into new hope they told me. What good is having good insurance if you can't come up with the 1600 blood money they want, making it almost impossible to get in and it stopped me from being able to accomplish what I had set out to do. New hope is close to my house so is where I felt would be good for me to get into. But like I had asked them at the time, is anyone even in new hope? And did they get charged this 1600 fee? Cause it doesn't state it on their website at all. And I was begging them please I took out two weeks vacation time from my job to be able to do this and there was nothing they could do for me. Even with great medical insurance. Didn't matter. It took me over a year to acquire that many hours of vacation time. I started crying my eyes out thinking can I ever get off these drugs that unfortunately I was dumb enough to get addicted to. New Hope makes it seem like they will help, but only if the price is right. This is my experience with New Hope. I hope your experiences are better than mine. They could have made a difference in my life as I was begging them for help. jlein737@gmail.com if you can truly help me, please get in touch.

This review is specifically for the scheduling and reception part of the business…read more My doctor prescribed physical therapy for an injury. I was given the choice of two clinics so I chose Tower Physical Therapy because I had heard good things about them. I called right away to make an appointment. Unfortunately the first available appointment was more than a month away, but I understood that they were busy, and was willing to wait. On the day of my appointment I arrived early to check in since there are always forms to complete for the first visit. The receptionist at the front desk took my name and told me that I did not have an appointment. She asked if my name was a totally different name, to which I replied it was not. She asked who I spoke to when I made the appointment. I didn't write down the name of the receptionist as I assumed it wouldn't be a issue. She went to the back to talk to the available PTs and returned a few minutes later (while calling me the wrong name) to inform me that I had missed my appointment which was scheduled that day, but two hours earlier. I know that I would not have scheduled an earlier appointment due to the fact that I was at work at that time. I informed her that I was told a different time (the time I had put in my calendar) and had repeated it to the woman I spoke to when scheduling, to confirm. The receptionist just reiterated that my appointment was earlier that day. The receptionist did say they could possibly fit me in if I was willing to wait, which I agreed to do. I gave her my insurance card and started to complete the necessary paperwork. While I filled out the forms, she started calling a male's name. Since there were two males in the waiting area with me, I assumed she was calling for one of them. Nope. She was reading the name on my insurance card which happened to be my husband's name. I realized what was happening and took my card back. I told her that was my husband's name, not my name. She made a comment stating that I didn't respond when she called my husband's name. He was not there with me and that is not my name so no, I didn't believe she was calling for me. In the meantime, a second woman came to the desk and began the task of verifying my insurance. She called me back to the desk after a few minutes and informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I left feeling very frustrated. Looking back there was another red flag about the whole fiasco. Usually a patient receives a phone call from the office or clinic to confirm the appointment. No one called me the day before to confirm my appointment. Not even for the time they claimed my appointment was scheduled. Very odd. While I totally understand that we are all human and everyone makes mistakes or errors, what disappointed me the most was how the receptionist handled the situation. It is a shame because while I've heard good things about the therapy staff, I would not consider going back, all because of that receptionist.

I responded saying that I've had this same information and have already contacted my healthcare company prior to today's visit to learn of the co-pay I would have which is typically $40 for this type of service; a bilateral mammogram. She continued to "educate me" on the "why" and "what" reasons and coverages set by my insurance, not the facility. She was still grossly incorrect in the information. She explained to me that I first have to satisfy my deductible and or maximum out-of-pocket limits Anthem set and that is the "why" the estimated out-of-pocket of $811.45 was accurate and that $800 of that amount is going to satisfy the deductible. I was already under stress, fear, and uncertainty about the dates radiological procedures because my paternal aunt just died of metastasized breast cancer which also engulfed her bones. So now I've got an employee lecturing me at length as to "why this information of $811.45 is absolutely correct as per my health insurance and the mandatory deductible due". I have a soft spot for this Emanuel Cancer Center and have been having my female health needs done here when I could go elsewhere. I have just always felt as safe as I could while here. I'm not going to stop coming here however just because of this unfortunate yet preventable business office fiasco but I would like to see this type of unnecessarily stressful situation become extinct. I think the worst of it is either the employee was disallowed to behave any other way or, incorrect training maybe? They could also reach out to leadership with Anthem BC and inform them of these unacceptable outcomes when inquiring for patient services. Either way, all 3 options could lead to higher patient satisfaction ratings and less stress & anxiety for everyone involved.
