I am 44yrs old and have fought gum recession for as long as I can remember, a mixture of bad genetics and night grinding led me to needing a gum graft. Enter Dr. Cohen - my gum superhero! After a previous consult with another Perio in the area, I was told the only way to save my recession over my eye tooth was a graft. Something I was not willing to do. Well, thank God for Dr. Cohen and the pinhole procedure! I knew right after my first meeting with Dr. Cohen and his staff that this was the right decision and the right place. He answered all my questions, was very thorough and had wonderful bedside manner- as did his staff. Next up was surgery day, a quick, pain free experience that left me feeling mildly swollen and taking it easy for the next 48hrs was NOTHING compared to the nightmare stories I had heard about grafts. Simple smoothies for a couple days and I was right back to work with plumpy gums! Now I am 2 weeks post-procedure, swelling is gone, I'm still pain free and can not believe the difference! I love that he will be seeing/following up with me for a year. That is commitment! I can not say enough good things about the pinhole procedure, Dr. Cohen and all the staff at Palm Beach Center for Periodontics! If you are in need of healing gum recession, don't hesitate- book today! A couple pointers I'd share with anyone having this procedure: be patient, don't speak for atleast 3 days post procedure- I did 5 days and had THE BEST healing results, stay on the smoothies and soft foods, it allows for faster more thorough healing, don't be surprised if there is a dissolvable stitch or two in there- Doc is just reinforcing and NO, none of it hurts- just a little "weird" feeling. Take the advil, and ice it like they tell you- it REALLY helps with the swelling.

He has a very calming presence and spoke to me in a reassuring manner during the procedure which was so helpful since I was nervous and opted not to be knocked out. The staff is personable, the initial check up visit was straightforward and I didn't at all feel like they were trying to up-sell me. The dentist is probably the nicest one I've ever encountered. My husband and I both work in healthcare and I know what it's like to be busy with a bunch of new patient visits. The staff never made us feel rushed and were pleasant and professional throughout. It's nice you can watch HGTV in the room while you're getting examined too.

Usually people do not say that they had a great time at the dentist, but I had a blast. The staff....each and every one of them were just very down-to-earth and kind. Not a frown in the office. I only waited for about 10 mins after checking in. The lobby was immaculate and smelled wonderful. Oh, what I loved too was that you park and the door is right there. No hunting for the location and wandering around like a mad person in this heat. It was very easy to get to. So anyway.... I was taken back to the room, which was not closed off yet private enough that I did not feel the whole office was looking in my mouth. His assistant (Orianna...I remember the Anna part..sorry girl) asked me what brought me in and I explained all of my concerns. She made me feel comfortable with being really honest with her about my issues. She took x-rays and was super conversational in the process which continued to help calm my jitters. The doctor came in and ran a thorough review of my mouth and my x-rays. All I know is, the last dentist I visited was not as detailed with a game plan on how to get me back to 100%. He broke everything down in layman's terms. I was able to understand the what and the why to get us to a final outcome that we both would be happy with. I appreciate how willing they were to take the time to explain everything to me. I left with no unanswered questions and future appointments have been booked. I have already referred a close friend, and I am sure she will keep the trend after she visits with Dr. M and his team. I have not been so optimistic on my oral health in a long time.
