The last funeral service was last month for my father who had passed away suddenly. I didn't play much of a part in preparing/planning my mom's funeral so I can't comment on that so I'll focus on the latest one. The funeral home was promptly contacted and we made an appointment to meet up (not until 5 days later because they were booked until then) and we met with Cer who was professional and very responsive. In fact, everyone there was very accommodating. My father had made plans for this ahead of time so we only had to make more minor decisions within the "package" he had paid for. That was really a pleasant surprise because it is a lot all at once - especially when no one expected it to happen. The place is a more practical building though the inside is clearly Asian influenced. I quickly realized most of the people that go through here are Asian. Everyone at the receptionist's desk is approachable and helpful. They also won't kick you out (we accidentally lingered a little longer than our allowed time for the first day and they just waited for us). They offer all sorts of services from Buddhist to Church ones and will accommodate as best as they can to personal requests. We only met Cer that once but she was super responsive via email thereafter. Our visits after that first time, she was busy... somewhere. We opted for Friday-Saturday service dates and she wasn't available those dates but it still went smoothly thanks to everyone involved. They have two large rooms where you can have your service in. Both have a kitchen. One room is a little bigger than the other. They seem pretty clean with plenty of seats. They were also very helpful when we asked to see our Dad so we went a separate time for a private viewing in the back. Again, no rush. Be prepared for some time to pass between each step. They are busy and when we finally scheduled the actual service dates, they ended up being just over 2 weeks out because that was the earliest available. Overall, as good as it could be all things considered. Very helpful and prompt without being overbearing or pushy. They don't try to sell you MORE which is great. (I do recommend getting a "package" for the ones you leave behind if feasible because that was extremely helpful.... The entire process could have been a lot more challenging and time consuming without it.)

Waited for 15-20 mins and no one came to help . People were inside laughing clearly there doing…read moresomething but no one at the front to offer assistance.

Their visitation/memorial were elsewhere but they are buried here so I can only comment on that part of their services. They are conveniently located right off of I-10 and have a decent amount of parking, though when you go further in, it's mostly street parking so not an actual parking lot/spaces. Depending on how far your loved one is buried, you might be able to just park by the main building and walk over. The grounds are extensive so I've never been able to explore properly as my parents are buried just being the mausoleum, so we could walk if we wanted to. It's not bad if it's not summer. For the first burial, I didn't have much to do with the planning. However, for the latest one, we had the pleasure of working with Chase at Memorial Oaks. My remaining parent had the forethought to plan everything "just in case" so when we went, we only had minor decisions to make within the "package". It was a pleasant surprise since it was a sudden death. He was very approachable and easy to talk with. He was also pretty responsive. We didn't meet again after that as the burial service was on the weekend and they are apparently busy those days. More accurately, it's generally busy. When we finally met with our funeral director at another funeral home, the scheduled date for everything was a little over 2 weeks later. Not due to choice, but those were the earliest dates available. They do say someone dies every 2 seconds on Earth. Based on that, it makes sense. The receptionist building is quite nice, bordering on fancy. They have super thick and soft disposable hand towels in the bathroom, their cookie platters are never empty, and they have beverages. Quiet with soft music, a bit of a solemn environment. The grounds itself are fairly well kept, but not the best cemetery I've been to. They can be quite nice to relax in and some seem to encourage that. Not this one (no randomly placed benches under trees, minimal sidewalks, no picturesque stream running through the grounds with a bridge over it). However, I don't really see overgrown grass or weeds there which is nice. Wear sensible shoes after a rain because the ground can get a bit soggy. It's a place to "visit" your deceased loved ones, but it doesn't really go much farther than that. Mostly because... My one complaint are the mosquitoes. Every time I visit, we get attacked by mosquitoes. They are voracious there. And relentless. And I usually encounter those huge ones that actually hurt as their proboscis pierces through skin; no special numbing mosquito saliva for them! No matter the season, they are there ever since the first burial 6 years ago. Every. Single. Time. I wish Memorial Oaks would spray for mosquitoes because my family has never stayed for longer than 5-7 minutes because of it and my parents are buried next to a bench so we could definitely linger for longer and maybe even picnic there. But we haven't because my family includes younger kids and it's best that they not become a part of the buffet either. (Or maybe that's what they're going for? Hah. Kidding.) Aside from the mosquito problem, this is a nice cemetery (and funeral home) that I would overall recommend. Great service and nice amenities. Except for the mosquitoes. That's the reason why I'm only giving 4 stars. Tip: I highly recommend looking into "packages" if you have the monetary means. You can pay monthly and they are a HUGE help to the people helping arrange for funeral services once you're gone. I'm thinking about doing it myself and I'm not middle aged yet. Just in case.

And that is exactly what Claire Brothers Funeral Home did for our family. They beautifully executed my father's homegoing ceremony. They allowed my dad's last "hoorah" to be an accurate depiction of who my father was. And for that, I am deeply grateful that we decided to have our funeral service at Claire Brothers. From the service logistics/arrangement, to the printing of the fliers (going beyond what was expected), to the slideshow, and to the selection of the pianist and psalmist, we were just greatly pleased. I would definitely recommend them to others who are seeking a professional funeral service that allows, yet magnifies the feel of warm intimacy.

I don't know how much it cost to have them take care of you from A-Z but I just know whatever it was, it was worth every single penny. They are so thorough. They think of everything! Jerry you run a tight ship and it shows! So very impressed with you and your entire team. What I loved most is how every single place we needed to be was already strategically planned out. You can tell they have done this many times. And they did it well. From the flower placement, the monitors, the hors d'oeuvres, the reception, the drinks, the cold wet towels with the cold water bottles served to us in scorching heat during the burial, the big umbrellas you pulled out of your never ending Mary Poppins type bag for the pallbearers so they could have some shade. Even down to the mini paper fans. The way he was able to relay all of the families request and wishes in a professional manner to the guests. The way every single person on his team was dressed (the garments were so nice) how they continuously presented themselves professionally. They made you feel like you were at the funeral of the President of the United States. (Although, I was told they have done it there before) I think the most impressive thing about this place was how they made the widow feel. In that moment during all the events he was 100% her biggest supporter and gave her the peace of mind she needed while she was grieving. He knew exactly what to do every single time. And he was such an all around nice guy. Very approachable. Great job to Geo H Lewis. I've attended many funerals and this one definitely raised the bar. This service had been prepaid by the relative and I was in charge of carrying out the service within the expenses that were offered. In reviewing the expenses there was one cost I was questioning and in doing so, Mr. Drummond took offense to my questioning it and he became angry and agitated to the point that he declared that his funeral home would not honor the contract and would not hold the funeral service. Through some expresson of apolgies on my part he agreed to go forward with the service which we did and it turned out ok. Nothing like threatening a grieving person who is trying to understand the costs as well as having to plan a service only to threaten to cancel the agreement with only two weeks before the service. I will be contacting the Texas Funeral Service Commission to register a complain on Mr. Drummond's ethics and lack of professional empathy

We chose Earthman Funeral Home Baytown, TX on a recommendation of a friend. Although my fathers funeral was preplanned, we ran into obstacles from the beginning with the cemetary, as well as the military for planning the proper services for my dad. Mary Boudion, General Manager of Earthman Baytown was there and ready to help us figure things out. When the cemetary was not cooperative with us on a burial day, Mary stepped in and handled the cemetary staff both professionally and quickly to resolve the problem. When I was losing my cool, she calmed me down and assured me it would all be taken care of. Kendrick Herron, Funeral Director, was also very helpful in the planning of dads funeral. Kendrick took over handling the issues with the Military and helped us find all the information we needed and gave us direction on how to get what we need for Dad. Jim helped us on the day of burial, he was prompt, courteous, and handled all the graveside services professionally. The facilities at Earthman Baytown are clean, well decorated, and large enough to accommodate our needs. The dining area across from the chapel worked nicely during the visitation and allowed our family and friends to have a break with good catered food and a comfortable atmosphere to sit and reminisce about dad, while still being close to him. I would recommend Earthman Funeral Home Baytown to anyone seeking a positive experience in a time that can be very stressful. Thank you Mary Boudion and Kendrick Herron for a job well done
