The one issue is the kid who works at night. Typical Portland hipster doofus, kinda fat with the Buddy Holly glasses and the beard looking like he shaved his pubes and glued them to his chin. Always has his idiot friends hogging counter space, glaring at customers and getting in their way. Acts like you're asking the world of him if you want to make a purchase. Tries overcharging people as well, and I don't believe it's a simple mistake, he's done it to me more than once and to other customers in the store with me as well. Tell him he didn't give you the right amount of change back and he practically throws a temper tantrum trying to get you out so he and his loser friends can get back to slacking around. Kick his ass to the curb, hire someone who actually wants to work and not be a drain on society and this place would be perfect.

Now I shop here at least 2-4x a week and I have always received a nice greeting from friendly and polite employees, as well as a friendly godb Except tonight. December 16th, 2018. I came in about 6pm and the guy working was in his mid 20's, dark hair with a short heavyset build. he was talking with a couple men, one was standing by the counter and the other was leaning across the counter taking to him and when I came in they both backed away from the counter and stood there not looking at anything or Wanting to buy anything while I was there. So it was obvious they were his friends. I asked for my purchase and while he rang me up I got the impression that I was bothering him because I had interrupted his conversations and he was not pleased to have to serve me. He did not say anything polite until The very end when I had to ask him for my receipt then he said have a good day but it wasn't said in a polite time at all. It was said in a "get out of here" tine. As soon as I left he immediately went back to talking with his friends, then coming outside to talk. I have seen other employees come outside and talk with their friends, smoke a cigarette, etc. however none of them had ever treated me as if I was bothering them or I was taking up their "precious" time. This was the first time. Had this been my first time at this location I would have given it one star, however since this was the only time I've been treated rudely I will still shop there and will not demote the place just because of one employee who needs to either find a job where he doesn't work with the public or grow up. Maybe both.

I overheard his interaction with every person who came in and couldn't help but smile. He had such a positive attitude. I forgot to tell him he had such kind eyes. Thank you for such a pleasant experience.

For years I've patronized many different businesses like this, and I can say at the time of writing this that it's the first business I look forward to walking into and engaging in a business transaction. Being an introvert who detests shallow interactions and small talk, this is not a thing I write nonchalantly. I stumbled upon Puff Puff Shop in early August 2021 while driving around searching for another shop right after having been given very poor customer service by my old go to shop, where they attempted to overcharge me 3 visits in a row and treat me as if I was a clueless sucker. Consequently, for the first time in my life ever, I canceled my transaction and walked out of my old go to store with disgust and rage in my heart. Walking into Puff Puff Shop, the owner and the other employee immediately with good spirit started BS'ing with me and were genuinely cool and conducted themselves in a far more welcoming, human and warm manner which I thanked them for considering what just happened, and hearing what had just happened, they then went the extra mile to be genuinely cool. That day I walked into Puff Puff Shop with rage in my heart and walked out with a grin on my face, washed of that rage. This has since then assured my repeated business. Definitely recommend Puff Puff Shop and wish them success in their new endeavor!
