Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the building. It's a small lot, but parking shouldn't be an issue because this place doesn't get full quickly. I always come here to get my BLS and ACLS renewed. Super easy and chill instructors.

Luckily from a yelp search I found this place, and so glad that I did. I was able to sign up for the Sunday class and the price was actual lower than the place I used to go to. The online sign up process was easy and I got my confirmation right away. The place was right on the corner where Huntington curves and easy to spot even when the gps tries to take you the wrong way. There is ample parking in the back. The class was already set up and they had bathrooms available as well. Andrew was an awesome instructor. He was to the point, funny, and made sure everyone understood and stopped after each segment to see if anyone needed him to go over anything again. The test was given at the end and graded right there. The ecard is then emailed. I highly recommend this course here and will take it again when needed. Price: $59 and easy online registration Parking: plenty in the back Instructor: Andrew was excellent Certifications: a variety offered and this one satisfied the AHA BLS for healthcare

In spite of having dozens of hard working creative professionals on contract - (meaning they dont pay them, provide no benefits, and almost no administrative support) they manage to destroy successful community programs they didn't have to lift a finger to create. You show up to your program you paid for weeks in advance to find a private party instead. Absolutely no respect for their customers or contractors. Double booked facilities, malfunctioning enrollment system, inaccurate information, you name it, they can f it up.

We called South Pas to ask what their classes were like and were assured that children not only pick up new skills, but they leave class tired and ready for some quiet time. Awesome. We decided to sign up for two classes based on the recommendation of the rec department. The course we recently attended was Mini Sports Blitz. "45 minutes of games and activities" says the catalog, except for one major problem...the children are active for maybe 5 to 7 minutes each 45 minute session. What does this mean? That the kids wait in ridiculous lines or take turns 1 at a time to participate (recent example: about 15 kids waited 15 minutes to use a bat once on a t-ball stand. They were instructed on how to hit the ball, and run around the bases. There was 1 bat and 1 stand.) So what do the other kids do while they wait so long? Stand around, play with mom or dad, sit, take off, some parents play catch with another ball, go to the playground nearby - for 15 minutes! That's an awfully long time as an adult to wait, and we're talking 2 to 3 year olds...such a waste. While the instructor, Andy, seems nice, he's not volunteering his services. He hardly seems to understand a toddler's developmental needs in a group setting and how the kids should be active most of the class time - he could easily break up the kids into smaller groups, bring in more equipment, or just in case he has to make do with the what he already has, concurrently work on two or more different activities in different areas, and recruit help from all the parents that otherwise stand around doing very little. Cost: $50 for 4 classes. What does this break down to? About $2 per minute of activity. My massages are cheaper! Eek indeed! Is it possible for Andy to reflect on his instruction and notice that the only person moving around and talking the entire time is him? Remember though, this is the 2nd class through SP Rec Services, and similarly low skilled instructors keep the kids active for 10% of the time for the same reason. This is apparently an issue that needs to be addressed within the department either by going to the classes to observe and see how much activity on the kids part is actually taking place, or with a parent survey that addresses this area specifically. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets in South Pas and you'd be better off driving further out to enroll for classes in Arcadia or San Marino, or even to the closest park near you, for free.

As a music major, they have excellent programs regarding the arts and have a separate building specifically for the arts. Although, sometimes music classes may be held at other buildings. I did finish with 70 credits with a 3.0 GPA although, when it comes to counseling and class advisory, they're not much help unfortunately. Basically for the most part, you do have to figure it out on your own. I generally did have a good experience and education at PCC. Especially with understanding with how music works when it comes to theory. Some of the learning is hands on and off. When it comes to college social life, if I'm being honest, it was great to make the connections I did...although, I should've mainly focused on trying to further my education rather than distracting myself. Other than that, it's generally a good community college if you're coming out of high school and a beautiful campus in my opinion.

I personally think that the college should hand out free water bottles to folks coming to this swap meet during the hot summer months which Pasadena can get into the 100 plus degrees.

Note that we were interested in the Mandarin program, so my observations shared here are mainly based on that aspect. This model should be replicated nationwide. Growing up, my parents had to choose between a public German immersion school and our local parochial school. They prioritized faith, which was the right call, but at All Souls, parents don't have to make that compromise--you get both! Dr. Allison is the principal, and after multiple conversations, it was clear how much he "gets it." He has an extensive background in education, and seems like exactly the person you would trust in charge of a growing and thriving school like this. He instills confidence. We met with teachers, parents, and staff, and everyone is kind and the teachers seem like great educators. The classes have very good teacher-to-student ratios. The weekly schedule is better than essentially all other schools, including early release on Fridays (perfect time to schedule doctor appts, dental appts, music lessons, etc.) and Mass only every other week (which is smart because it doesn't burn the kids out on it). Also, it is a very food-allergy-friendly school, with no nut/peanut classrooms TK-2 just to name one thing. For anyone weighing the benefits of language immersion against a faith-based environment, All Souls proves you really can have both without compromise.

The current principal works hard. I think the Spanish program is still decent but academically this school is behind public schools. I love the small class sizes and loving environment but we left due to the huge teacher turnover resulting in some grades with terrible teachers. If they beef up the academics a bit there may be hope.
