My experience was very different then the other review. Dr. Lea was very nice & took his time addressing my concerns. My main concern was with recent weight gain. He provided all the medical recommendations and suggested seeing a dietician. Then he implemented some common sense, something most doctors don't do. Rather than prescribing some Rx (which I was kind of looking for) he grabbed my attention about the health risks of gaining more weight & sternly told me to eat less and move more. May seem simple but the medical fact is, nothing is more effective than following that advice. I guess it was its simplicity that got through to me. Since my visit I quit dieting and quit struggling with the whole process. I have eaten less and moved more to the tune of 33 pounds lost in two months. I appreciate the fact he is not a trigger happy script slinger and took the time & care to address my concerns in a manner that was truly best for me.
As far as doctors being in a constant rush, that is not going to change as long as we have capitalistic medicine. It can't be just about healing you. It has to be about healing you at a profit. They have to meet their minimum number of patients every day or figure out how to pay 3/4 million dollars in student loans as a waiter. It is that simple. If you think that your health should trump business concerns then figure out a way to make it work & sell it to Washington. read more
