Ended up at this gem because our original wine tour was canceled. The gentlemen here allowed our group to come in at 12:45pm. We received a card with 30 euros on the card. Excellent small wine bar and shop. They have more than w dozen wines that you can try 3 cl pours. It's a great opportunity to sample more expensive bottles from the region before committing to a full purchase. Very extensive wine collection. We loved this spot! The owner was extremely hospitable. He shared lots of info about the regions and wine. Also spoke English very well which was helpful for us since we don't know french. They use a card to dispense the wine so you loud up like 30 euros and can choose how many ounces of each wine you'd like to try. The four of us essentially tried about ~14 wines for 50 euros total. We also bought three bottles which was another 50 euros. All in all a very good deal for the amount we tried and brought home. I loved that they have all the wine makers photos on the wall too. Made it more personal getting to try and hear about who made them. Highly suggest making a stop here! read more

This place has got VERY reasonable wines from the local Rhone valley region, and such great attentiveness by the owners! 2 Gentlemen run the shop, and are very knowledgeable, and helpful when selecting wines to your preference. Really great, modern Cruvinet system setup with 32 wines to taste from, for a mild fee. ( A cruvinet is a wine dispersal system that keeps the right amount of safe nitrogen gas pressure on the liquid, so every glass is fresh, as if the bottle was just opened) What a better way to try the areas great producers, without having to go all in on a whole bottle? Great selection and staff who are knowledgeable and friendly. They pointed me towards some great whiskey, and knew exactly which oddball brandy I was describing - even though I didn't remember its name. I'm not sure when I'll make it back to Avignon, but I'd gladly stop back again. read more

My wife and I stayed in Avignon for 6 days in September 2014.Our apartment owner pointed us towards Le Vin Devant Soi on the day of our arrival and we never looked back. Each afternoon, after a day of exploring or touring, we would wander back to this little oasis and enjoy a glass of local wine (or two) with a platter of cheese and salami. Stefan and Laurent are both very friendly and knowledagble and are clearly passionate about their product. We would highly recommend a visit to thsi lovely establishment. read more
