During our visit to Courchevel 1850, we ate here for lunch most of the days. The access to the restaurant was easy as it is right next to the La Croisette which is the base of the ski slope from where you can get to numerous lifts back up the mountain. If you sit inside, you can enjoy the view of the mountain range to the north or you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountain range which you most likely just came skiing down.
As with most restaurants in Courchevel, the restaurant is a little on the expensive side.
Deep Fried Shrimp - Very large shrimp deep fried to a golden brown. The breading is nice and crisp and the shrimp stays nice and succulent.
Spaghetti Bolognese - Not much sauce so I had to ask for more. Have had better but I'm sure that it didn't help that I was slightly under the weather.
Goat Cheese Salad - Good quality cheese. Dressing was light and perfect for the salad.
Thai Shrimp Stir Fry - Shrimp and vegetables sauteed and accompanied by some steamed white rice. Typical Thai flavoring with a lot of herbs and spices. Very tasty and not salty. The perfect blend.
Seafood Tower - Impressive tower full of shellfish. Crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, oh my! You thought you got a lot of seafood at Mastro's for their tower.. they ain't got nothing on this tower. But there are different sizes available based on the number of people. Even then, there was a lot of seafood.
Cheeseburger - Not their highlight. Bun got soggy and broke apart. Meat was slightly undercooked. But I guess the question is, what are you thinking ordering a hamburger in France? My fault on this one.
Gratine - Typical Lyonnaise style dish. Sliced potatoes, a lot of cheese and served in a dish that came straight out of the oven.
You just can't beat the convenience of its location and the view. Just makes you appreciate nature when looking up at the slopes of the French Alps with a cold beer in hand. read more
