Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the Price Anymore I had high…read moreexpectations for my stay at Hotel Alpes Pralong Courchevel, having previously visited in 2024 and had a great experience. However, my recent stay from March 8th, 2025, was a huge disappointment, and I will never return. I had prepaid in January for a 4-night stay in a standard room at a rate of £4,000. Upon arrival, I discovered that the hotel was empty, and the same room was being offered for half the price on their website. Naturally, I inquired about a room upgrade, only to be met with poor service and bureaucracy. The receptionist claimed she had no authority to make decisions and needed to consult the director, who was conveniently "in a meeting" and completely inaccessible. We also wanted to extend our stay for a 5th night, which was advertised at €500 on their website. Instead of honoring this, we were told the price was now €1,000, and the upgrade would cost an additional €1,200. After waiting 45 minutes, I refused to pay extra, and they assigned us the worst room in the hotel--Room 403, on the 4th floor next to the service door, with a view of the parking lot. The room was not even ready at 7:30 PM despite our scheduled check-in. Understaffed and Poor Service It quickly became clear that the hotel was significantly understaffed: The receptionist was also handling baggage, door service, and driving guests. Service at breakfast was incredibly slow--I waited 30 minutes for crêpes that never arrived. Housekeeping and noise issues: Being placed next to the service door meant constant noise, including hotel staff dumping glass bottles at midnight. Cost-Cutting at Every Level Compared to my previous visit, the hotel's quality has dropped dramatically. No welcome amenities in the room--no complimentary champagne, chocolates, or fruits. The overall atmosphere felt cheapened, with staff struggling to keep up. The hotel management ignored our complaints, showing zero effort to fix the situation. Final Decision - We Left Early By the end of the stay, we were so frustrated that we chose to leave early and book another hotel for our final night instead. For a 5-star hotel charging €1,200 per night, the experience was completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel--there are much better options in Courchevel.

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the food is way over priced for the quality delivered. My foie gras was one of the best I had but the main course was way too salty. I asked the waiter to change it and the second option came salty again. The restaurant still wanted to charge me for the main course that I didn't eat and then gave us wine on the house after the conversation with the manager.

Yes please! It's silver service if you're eating, but for drinks take the sun loungers or the massive bean bars and have a lie down whilst someone gets your drinks for you. A spot of dutch courage at lunch and straight down the grand couloir afterwards. Brilliant!
