We were in the process of planning our son's first birthday party at the time, and realized that having a photographer would make our lives so much easier and enjoyable for our upcoming event. Melissa in a word is fantastic. She showed up early, helped us set up for the event, took a bunch of amazing photos and overall did an excellent job of capturing the memories of our son's party. She was instrumental in freeing us up to spend some time with our guests as well as enjoy the moment, rather than having one or both of us running around trying to be sure we got pictures. We highly recommend Melissa, she is an excellent photographer and we are extremely happy with her services.

After doing our research, we decided to go with Dina for our photoshoot. She gave us clear instructions for the morning of the shoot which made our day go much smoother than expected When we finally met Dina, she offered us drinks and snacks and pretty much told us to relax. I mean, who doesn't want to relax after taking care of our newborn day and night for the first 3 weeks. It felt like a day off! Dina is so soft-spoken and professional. We were so shocked at how good she was with our baby. She knew exactly what to do with him in the most gentle way. She knew when he was gassy, or when he was hungry. She would let me nurse with privacy and even offered a nursing pillow for me. To be honest, as first time parents, we obviously don't know it all but we did learn so much from our session with Dina. She taught us a bicycle trick to help our baby relieve gas. Our baby even pooped on her while she was doing this trick. SO SORRY DINA! Moving on, our session did go smoothly until the end. Our baby was very fussy but Dina was still very patient with us and allowed us to stay until we got our shot right. At the time of viewing (different date), she made a slideshow presentation for us. It was so beautiful, we had happy, loving tears! Ordering was simple and easy. She even made us homemade cookies which I'm going to need the recipe for Dina! They were delicious! Can't wait to pick up our canvas!

With a newborn, preparation is everything, and she has everything down perfectly! She accommodated my family beautifully and took the sweetest photos of my baby girl with the utmost care. As a new mom, the care she took with my daughter as well as having snacks for us, even offering for this tired mama to catch a quick snooze in between shots - things couldn't have gone better. When we met for the photo review and ordering, she was again perfectly prepared. The slideshow of photos brought tears to my eyes. The presentation was lovely and it was such a wonderful experience overall. Thank you Dina!

From our engagement shoot a year prior to our wedding to the weekend of, we knew we were in the very best hands. My now husband and I are pretty camera shy and hugely appreciated Cheyanna's hands-on direction, her efforts to make us feel comfortable, and her overall fun, easy-going affect. For me personally, I can't imagine my wedding day without Cheyanna. I already knew that I loved her photography and that she would beautifully capture the day, but she went above and beyond that. She was so kind, supportive, and really was a much-needed calming presence for me throughout the day. Not only did I feel taken care of, I for once felt beautiful and confident, which meant more to me that I can attempt to put into words. Cheyanna's second shooter for the day, Jordan, was also fantastic and per my husband, helped to make the photography more fun. They made for a great duo! We are beyond obsessed with the sneak peeks that Cheyanna sent us (which she sent so quickly!) and are counting the days until we get to see the rest of the memories she captured. Kristina's photography is different. She has a natural documentary-style approach, uses natural light, and photographed my child running around being silly in my very own home. From the moment I met her and saw how she interacted with my son, I could tell that she's successful at what she does because she loves what she does. That comes across most clearly in her photographs--they are beautiful and sharp and real. She has a talent for finding a subtle detail of emotion and highlighting it. I find a lot of professional baby and family photography to be kind of cheesy and I really appreciate her approach. Also - I find her pricing to be VERY fair. Our first photo session with Sai was almost 2 years ago. I remember it just flew by and I felt comfortable the whole time. I'm not usually very confident in front of the camera but Sai's casual approach put me at ease and it really helped me that she showed me images as she was shooting and explained what she was going for when she would ask me to move or pose a certain way. She was definitely in the drivers seat - which I appreciate - but it still felt kind of collaborative and that really helped me feel comfortable. My son was the main focus of the shoot but we took a quite a number of really beautiful unposed shots of my husband and I both holding him that were ultimately my favorites. We also did a handful of posed family shots but I don't think we ever spent more than 15 minutes on those. We really had a great time and absolutely LOVED our photos. ...so much so that I've since hired Sai 2 more times! We've done 2 full sessions with her and 1 mini session. I found the mini to be great once we'd passed beyond babyhood into toddler time. Just short enough to hold my son's attention and get a few gorgeous shots of him - with and without my husband and I - and by the time he was getting bored, we were done! I definitely recommend the full sessions for baby shoots - but I think you can get away with a mini session for toddlers and older kids. I've also recommended Citybird to my sister when she had her baby (she also loooved her photos) and a handful of other friends - one of whom just booked Sai to shoot her wedding!
