Came here after the worst train ride and bus ride. Our train was delayed 2.5 hours because the train that was ahead of us had broken down and then we had a bus ride that lasted 1.5 hours. We then had to drag our suitcases and walk over a mile to our hotel since we had got in so late that there were no taxis anywhere.
That being said, we were starving and needed something to eat and it was already after midnight. We saw this restaurant on our long walk to the hotel and it was crowded at such a late hour that we knew this was the place we had to come eat after we got checked in.
We started with a marguerita pizza and pasta with mushrooms and Parmesan cheese in a cream sauce. The pizza had a bubbly crust and crispy just the way I like it. The pasta came out piping hot but prepared al dente. The cream sauce was not overly heavy and the mushrooms and Parmesan cheese were a perfect compliment to the pasta.
For my main I had the special foie gras burger. The burger was really big and I was only able to eat half of it. Although really rich in flavor because of the big piece of foie gras on the burger, it was easy to eat and the taste didn't get old. The casual sports bar feel was very comforting as I enjoyed 3 large goblets of Leffe beer.
We returned for lunch the next day and this time I tried the pork ribs at the urging of the waiter. Flavor wasn't bad for the barbecue sauce but the pork ribs were slightly burnt. Good barbecue I have to get in the US.
Despite the not so good ribs, I really thought this restaurant was really good. After a rough beginning to our trip to Saint Tropez, coming to this restaurant and having the great accommodations at our hotel made up for everything. read more
