BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
I visited this fancy boutiqe during a recent visit to the Cannes Film Festival. I purchased an expensive garment after being told by the saleswoman that this was a French Designer not readily available in the States. I asked these specific questions. I paid over $1000 US dollars.
The item, by designer Melissa Odabash, was a Camillia Cream, Long Kaftan, One size.
When I returned home and googled it, I discovered that not only was this an AMERICAN designer, who resides in the UK, but that this particular item was readily available on line at such high end retail sites as Net-a-Porter for over half the price. That's right, I could have had it shipped to my home in LA for FREE and at half price with a return policy.
When I asked the store for a reasonable refund or return, the rejected me outright, claiming that they had to pay 20% import tax on the item that they claimed was a local designer!!!! And they won't give me my money back.
These people are liars and give a bad name to all the reputable boutiques trying to make a go of it in these difficult retail times. But this is why I only shop on line now. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM WITHOUT DOING A QUICK SEARCH. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR REPEAT BUSINESS AND ARE A TOTAL TOURIST TRAP. DON'T BE STUPID LIKE I WAS!!!!!!
