The food quality is poor and disappointing, yet the prices are extremely high. You can easily walk a couple of blocks and find far better food at reasonable prices. At the entrance, the owner greets customers enthusiastically with a big smile, but once seated, the attitude changes completely and becomes rude and dismissive.
On top of the bad food and inflated pricing, there is a tourist trap element. A Turkish ice cream vendor (Maraş ice cream) operating right next to the restaurant starts performing tricks without disclosing prices, pressures people into accepting ice cream, and only reveals the cost after serving -- $32 for three ice creams, claiming it is cash only. When we didn't have enough cash, a credit card machine was suddenly produced and we were charged anyway.
When this was brought to the owner's attention, he claimed the ice cream vendor was "separate," yet the charge was processed using the restaurant's credit card machine, which is highly concerning. Additionally, a 10% service charge was added without clear explanation.
Overall, this place left a very unpleasant impression of our visit to Türkiye. Between the bad food, rude behavior, hidden charges, and deceptive practices, this is a restaurant best avoided. read more
