Friendly service, and quiet spot given that it's a few blocks from the main town drag. We sat outside but there are cozy tables inside, too. Deserving of the Michelin shoutout for an affordable meal. Half our meal was knock your socks off incredible, and the other half needed work, but perhaps this was our bad for ordering seafood here. The menu's limited and we ordered the only two appetizers and only two entrees, with a lovely crisp rose (2016 Petale de Rose from Provence).
- The amuse bouche was a crab salad topped with a red pepper sorbet, which was light and inviting.
- The cheese souffle over a cucumber gazpacho was refreshing, incredibly balanced, with a light yet luscious souffle, over a crisp, fresh soup. Just phenomenal.
- The fried cod and salami pocket with yellow carrots and a lovely mousse, just seemed too bland. Same with the monkfish.
- The slices of veal with artichoke hearts, fresh peas, and a light pesto sauce were just spectacular: the veal was tender and flavorful, the peas the most tender and flavorful, and all in all, it was a great summer dish.
This was the best meal we had in Chamonix and I'd definitely return, though I'd probably stick to meat and veggies. read more
