They also have bikes for rent and plenty of bike parking and a small parking lot for cars. I would recommend this hotel.

Laurent is an amazingly warm, gracious, charming, welcoming host who makes you feel like you are an old friend who has just returned home. He made our stay an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too hard for him. 2. The food. All home made by the chef. Freshly made croissants every morning were amazing. Dinner was a feast. 3. The location and hotel were charming and well placed to travel around the Loire. Roaring log fires and comfy chairs certainly help. Would happily stay here again and again and again.

Breakfast was simple but good. Dinner was appaling: Two sittings so we had the choice of a 7:30 or 9:30 reservation, food & drink order taken quickly & then the dishes started arriving rather randomly. No drinks arrived until after all the food arrived & even then drinks only arrived after 3rd time of asking (neighbouring table sent their children up to kitchen to get drinks, they had waited so long). Eventually, we were given a jug of water (45 mins after having ordered it) and decided not to accept the wine since it arrived after one of us had finished eating the main course. I had not started to eat the main course (waiting for wine) so by the time I did eat, the food ws cold and disappointing. Desert ordered & took 45 mins to arrive then we had to ask twice for spoons to eat it with. Spoons arrived but were too big to fit into dainty desert dish. New smaller spoons were brought. Waiter ended up apologising profusely for his 'bad day', restaurant manager ended up explaining that they were short of staff & had more customers than normal. All guests at tables around us were fed up with poor service. At no point did any staff suggest a 'gest commerciale' of a glass of wine or drinks for the children or a coffe to placate us in the end, we would not have accepted it, we just wanted to be out of there!

They grabbed my wife and four year old daughter and shut them up in the dining room until we paid for the inedible meal and the wine that was still in the glasses on the table. After some pushing and shoving we tried to contact the police. They never came and we had to pay to leave as my daughter couldn't stop crying. She still doesn't like the idea of going to France. I've been to all parts for of France over my life and have never been served food so poor. I've traveled all around the world and have never been treated like that. Save yourself the bother and possible mistreatment and go anywhere else to eat.

Younger proprietor spoke great English and the older proprietors spoke French. The room was definitely adequate. But ask how to use the air conditioning if you need it. We just left the French doors open and let the cool air in. Modern bathroom was lovely, queen bed was comfortable, flat screen tv although all in French. French doors off all the upstairs rooms lead onto small balconies (do need a bit of restoration- but we still sat outside in the beautiful weather and had a drink). The breakfast was included and had plants of offerings. They also had a full bar available in the evenings. We enjoyed it very much.

We stayed in the main building which offered an antique feel with some modern amenities like the remodeled bathrooms. There were three different buildings you could stay at: the Château, the Porterie and the Tower. The room was beautiful with all of the furniture complementing the ambiance. It made it easier to imagine old times in the castle, it was like taking a glimpse into the past. As you stared out the massive window you could see the property grounds which include a tennis court, outdoor pool, and even a helicopter pad (if you wanted to make a spectacular entrance). It could be so easy to come here and disconnect from the world. They help you do that by only offering WiFi in the reception area. To start the day they have a breakfast available on the main level of the Château. I'm not sure if this is included or not with your stay because I came here as part of a Topdeck tour and it was included for us. This was one of the most unique accommodations during my two weeks in France. I would love to come back and stay longer in this type of hotel simply to indulge in the history of France.
