Adorable and tiny. Cottage like atmosphere and very typical local french feel. Slightly snooty if you are american but unfortunately that is a given (not that that makes it ok - note the minus 1 star) because this place would be six stars otherwise.
So the accomodations are nothing fancy but they are quite french. E'toile all over the place. Roses galore. Everywhere there are roses. It has an overgrown wild feel to it but imagine that its lovely.
How do you say, stupid american pig? Yes, it is so.
The bed was hard and lumpy. I would subtract another star but the food was the best in the entire world. haha, actually the entire loire valley. We heard that which is why I booked it. The chef is nothing short of marvelous. I found the best duck anywhere and it was cooked to perfection. Med-rare with wine and kumquat sauce. The plate was gorgeous. I will post pics soon. The entire dinner was indulgent. From the starter, I had au gratin onion soup which was nothing short of the most amazing fucking soup Ive ever had. To the accoutrements on the dinner plate which I will steal. *the chef soaks the kumquats in a sugar water soln to give them a berry skin texture. The desert was refreshingly indulgent. Every sense in your mouth explodes. A must go!!! Plus, its an adorable town which has open markets on sundays where you can buy french ppls trash they no longer want. I brought back about five awesome tins to hold cookies, etc in to give as gifts. A must go! ..wait, I already said that! read more
