We got a no smoking room, but since this is a smoking casino there really is no way to avoid the smell. It's everywhere and on everything. People were smoking in the hall outside our room. If you love weird and shady people possibility doing drug deals in the parking lot; this is the place for you. If you like walking over the river and through the woods to get to the pool and dinning; this is the place for you. I seriously don't mind a good jaunt. HOWEVER, I did NOT like having to go through the smoked filled and loud casino with creepy drunk folks staring at my kids just to get to an over priced buffet (so SOOoo so glad we did NOT have to pay for our stay here). Honestly, I am not a picky person when it comes to hotels. I like 3 simple things. Clean, quite and good guest service. I can even look over some things if I get good guest service ... But I did NOT! I couldn't find a single place where it gave a check out time??? Most places are 11 or noon, I assume. But, I wanted to be sure. Called front desk. It rings... And rings ... And rings. Finally someone picks up only to hang up. I call 4 more times and it goes to call waiting So, I call the 800 reservation number. Guess what? After going through the automated touch service I get front desk!!! Imagine that! Dude on the phone sounds like he's probably 20 and stoned chopping on his munchies! I WISH I were kidding. I am not. Check out is at 11! I ... I .. .... Yeah *shakes head* Don't go here. The shower is terrible. The beds are not the greatest and they have these weird little pillows. The coffee was odd. It's cool that it was a kuregg. Not cool that the coffee was awful. It was really weird that there was a sign in our room asking to call front desk to dispose syringes . Apparently they have a large population of diabetics that stay there that they need to accommodate??? It's really ashame, though. The actual look of the rooms aren't that bad. I've been in worse. Someone clearly put thought into it. .... SOoooooo glad my husband got a bunch of free hand sanitizer spray at his conference. I sanitized the shit out of everything! And now I have smokers lung for the next few days. Boooooo!

And her stay got extended for another 2 weeks. Entire booking was done by an agent through the employer. This morning she went to reactivate the keys for the next 2 weeks. The lady at the front desk was very rude & unprofessional towards my wife and mentioned that my wife was not supposed to have complimentary breakfast. It was their fault because it was given to her when she checked in. Angie's behavior was as if my wife intentionally went for this lavish breakfast (believe me it's not). It was not her fault. It was their fault. Instead of apologizing for the mistake she gave attitude towards my wife. This is not acceptable. People in Bemidji are extremely nice towards foreigners. But this incident just threw us off. Most of the staff were very nice towards my wife. Next guest please make sure to check the name tag of this unprofessional employee at this hotel. If she doesn't know how to handle customers in a polite professional way, then she should find another profession which doesn't include customer service. Typical Karen attitude on a weekend.

It was a wise choice. This is a favorite hotel for us. The "log cabin-ish" theme carries throughout, with extra focus/ detail on the themed suites. (My only complaint on the top-tier suites is that they're right at the top of the stairs and people LOVE thumping up and down them, loudly. We went with the room category down, which still has a separate whirlpool that's not in the restroom though it doesn't have a TV & fireplace specifically for said whirlpool. A fair sacrifice for a quiet room. The room was clean and spacious, with woodland creature adornments (moosetrack room). Breakfast was not worth stopping for. One pan of hot items, apples, and sweet stuff - even the blueberries were sweetened. (If you're there for the evening reception, that's definitely worth attending.) There were ample towels & outlets. It came it right at $150 after taxes/fees. We slept well & woke up refreshed, ready for our long drive.

My room was directly across from the elevator so I heard it every time it opened. The lobby, pool, and fitness room were clean and tidy. There's a small variety of snacks and drinks available at the front desk. They offer breakfast in the morning. It consists of waffles, muffins, yogurt, cereal. They did offer varying hot food (written on a whiteboard) such as biscuits and gravy or sausage and eggs. There was a juice machine and hot chocolate as well. My room wasn't the cleanest and needed some TLC. The inside of the shower curtain was yucky, the toilet seat was loose and you had to flush 2-3 times, the fridge had crumbs and spilled liquid inside. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. The carpet had many various stains. And almost every wall had peeling or chipped paint. If this is the best in the area, it's probably your best bet but don't come with high expectations.
