Great museum with hundreds of horological items that can easily constitute a 2+ hour visit. For the…read moreprice, it is a must-see for any collector. Do note that the vast majority of exhibition text is in French and that the English text is scant (only for major exhibits and introductions to new periods or significant historical events). We did not use audio guides or join an official group tour. Though the exhibits progress from the 1600s to the early 2000s and are genuinely COOL, there is a lack of cohesion or progression and on top of that you're making awkward, jagged turns to follow the ascending numerical order of the exhibits. The space feels completely maxed out. The vast majority of visitors seem to have a truly difficult time following any preset order after turning the first corner of the two most dense floors. Though anyone could enjoy a short visit, it is disappointing that some of the absolute basics of watches that the average person would want to know about (how does a manual wind actually work, what is an automatic movement, what is meant by "complication," what is quartz, tell us more about the pocket watch to wristwatch thing, why are holy trinity watches so expensive, etc) are simply not addressed. The production quality of the video that is screened in the auditorium is DECENT but it ends abruptly almost as if the bureaucrat in charge of its funding just stepped in one day and said to the producer "okay--done!" Compared to the rest of the media put out by Patek, it's not a good reflection of the brand.

I have admired Patak Philippe watches in all the fashion magazines for many decades. So this was a huge event for me to be able to come to their museum. The museum is just like their shops, beautiful and elegant, super clean with white gloves. The museum has three levels and you can get an audio guide on the first floor. There's also periodic watch making demos you can join to watch a real live factory technician talk about watchmaking by hand. The amount of gorgeous watches from historical times to now, contains many priceless masterpieces. I especially love the ones with the music box and trinkets that moves. It is absolutely fascinating amazing to see. One of the coolest museums I've ever been in the world. Absolutely recommend!

The museum building itself is a beautiful space and has been well maintained, it is a historic dwelling built during the 18th century and known as the Maison Mallet. As you walk through the old house each room is designated to different events of the Reformation. The museum does a great job of using modern day audio visuals, historic manuscripts, paintings, objects, and engravings to engage and keep you interested. For only 13 CHF you gain entrance and a audio guide to the museum. No additional fees for audio guides here. My favourite room was the music room which was made to look like a little chapel with two wooden pews, and you can select different buttons to listen to historic hymns sung by Reformed churches from around the world. I came into the museum not expecting very much, and thought I would be bored, but I found this little place interesting. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5pm. TIP: for tourists to the area who will be visiting all the Saint Pierre historic sites in old Geneva be sure to get the combined ticket for 18 CHF which gets you entrance to the following spaces: Cathedral + Towers, Archaeological Site and this Reformation museum. Pretty good deal!

People work here and some meetings are off-limits so the admittedly short tour isn't super involved and won't take you to too many places, but it is worth a visit. I really just wanted to write this review because our tour guide looked exactly like a slightly German John Oliver. He was an odd mix of enthused and monotone but he was informative enough and he spoke fluently - in multiple languages. We spent at least 30 minutes in one room overlooking one of the central, cylindrical meeting rooms before moving on to the next one. He gave us a brief overview of the UN mission and took us to see a real conference, albeit with no audio or context. From this, we were whisked to the old, original building where the previous League of Nations was established. After seeing the original architecture and the original, refurbished meeting room, the tour ends and you are escorted back to the main lobby. No wandering solo or away from your group or a security guard will pick you up and kick you out, supposedly.

The tour guide was fluent in several languages and obviously knew A LOT about the organization. She was thrown several questions and always answered flawlessly. Great price for this guided tour of 15 CHF (discounts available) but be sure to bring your passport to enter (they might accept other documents, but passports were the only ones I saw used). This is a can't miss in Geneva!

After I found them (go to the top floor of the Les Cygnes mall and follow the path), Reto was there and said he didn't have availability that morning, but told me to come back at 5 and he'd take me out on a tour. I returned at 5 and discovered he was going to take me out alone at no extra charge--great personalized customer service! And because there was a music festival occurring that made travel through Old Town difficult due to crowds, he fashioned his own tour of the lake and gardens. He was a fountain of knowledge about Geneva's history, politics, geography--anything I could throw at him he could answer. He also took a ton of candid photographs during the tour and emailed them to me promptly after the tour. If you've never ridden a Segway (I had), you ride sometimes on the streets, so it was a little scary at first, but Reto led with confidence, so it was fun. I highly recommend a tour with CityWheels and Reto!
