7/15/2024 - The vertical jet of water abolitions into the air is massive to see. You can see from pretty far away. It appears there are boats you can take as a tourist to get a little closer. The water is light blue and clear. Just walking by this once again before I leave for Bangers and Mash in London.

It's not business- it's an attraction. Just got here. Seems like there was a parade. Lots of people, families. It's nice to just hang out & picnic .

Along with the Lake, this is a top attraction in Geneva. We saw it from a distance and had many different views and backgrounds. There is a pathway where you can walk up for a closer view. One of the tallest fountains in the world and was built in 1886. Hard to miss when in Geneva and the fun is getting the different shots of the city with the fountain.

Jet d'Eau is the fountain of Geneva. This man made beauty can be seen very far away. It also can be seen in the air by airplane when you get close to Geneva. The original of the fountain only shot the water 90 feet height above the lake. Now the new jet that utilizes the lake water shot 460 feet height. The jet dirt build in 1886. It is over 135 years ago. It has move from original location to current location once. The jet use super power jet for this fountain and elevated the lake water to the air. This fountain is not the tallest jet fountain of the world but it is tallest in Switzerland. It is still awesome to see such a display in the lake. At night time, they add the color light projection to the fountain. It is pleasant to walk around the lake and enjoy the scenery.

Maybe it was because it was a dreary day. The Jet is probably one of Geneva's most famous landmarks. Located in Lake Geneva were the the water starts to flow into the Rhône River. The water reaches 460 feet in the air. Seeing it in person seemed a bit uneventful. The straight stream of water up, with a slight arc back down.

Where old town meets new, gaze across Lac Geneve as water shoots in a long arc to the heavens. You'll go for the must-do-proof-you-were-there pic, but stay to explore. Tiptoe across the ped bridge to fully take in the view (watch out for the swans), take a water taxi across the lake to visit medieval Yvoire, France (have the perch!), go for a dip by bains-de-paquis, or take a picnic to Jardín Anglais. Summer in Geneva is gorgeous!

When in Geneva Switzerland you gotta see this. It's a fountain in the middle of the lake. No idea what the purpose is. It's pretty. You may ask ... isn't Jet d'Eau French? Yes. French is an commonly used language in Geneva. It's not an offense to speak French. Per Wikipedia The Jet d'Eau (Water-Jet) is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland, and is one of the city's most famous landmarks, being featured on the city's official tourism web site and on the official logo for Geneva's hosting of the 2008 UEFA Championships.Situated at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhône, it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva at an altitude of 10 kilometres (33,000 ft).

cool place to see! you probably won't miss it if you're visiting Geneva! One of the most popular spots to check out here. Take a walk along the river on a nice day and you can do some people watching here again.

Tallest water fountain in the world. A jet of water from 2 pumps to get it that high.... It is an impressive sight. Not sure why it's so mesmerising. See it night and day. Just don't get to close or you might get blown away or slip into the lake... You really can't miss it...

It starts at 10 am, everyday and lots of people gathered around, it's fun to watch and very scenic, swans and birds. Some people get wet , is an amusement itself. You can't miss it, is huge.

Well ... it's a fountain on the lake. If you like to see a famous fountain on the lake, then this is it !!! And amazingly, the jet is really high. Some logistics: 1. The jet is not working 24hrs a day. It starts at 10am (depending on the season) and stops around sunset. 2. You will need to walk to the jet but it can be seen from far far away also.

A few days ago, a fellow Yelper who has been on virtual vacation via my Yelp reviews asked me to visit/review the Jet d'Eau. So when, on a beautiful day I noticed a rainbow-embedded stream of water jetting through the sky at a distance, I took a detour from my Saturday shopping to pay a visit. You don't realize just how high this jet stream is until you're close, and the building anticipation as the jet stream gets bigger and bigger as you approach creates an exciting prelude. There is a little narrow bridge that connects the harbor to the spout, but be careful, it was icy, wet, had to accommodate foot traffic from both directions, and didn't have any railings. I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to make a false step if you're too mesmerized by the massive stream of water before your eyes. What I like about the Jet d'Eau is that, despite being Geneva's most famous landmark, it's fairly unassuming. There's no entrance, no lines, no tickets, no fuss. The spout is only separated from the public by a tiny waist-high fence. You can just casually walk up to what I imagine must be a major mechanical feat during a leisurely lunch hour. Apparently, there is a tour that's worth a go. As much as I liked the non-pretentious presentation of the Jet d'Eau, perhaps they should make it just a little bit more of a big deal that they have a tour, as I couldn't find any information on it on site.

Apparently Geneva's proudest landmark, you can see this stream of water from far away. I thought at first it was a geyser, but was clearly it was more like a water gun from the lake. There are plenty of views all around the lake and a lot of different walk ways. Also there's a yellow taxi-like boat that can take you across the river for a fee of course!
