This was an exceptional and unusual place to stay! An old pub, whose character had been retained, but also improved on. Boutique to the extreme! A freestanding bath in the corner of the room, fab breakfast on a tray, flat screen telly and while I was there the owner cooked an evening meal. All very reasonably priced! It is a short but uphill walk to the city centre, but other than to eat out, the place is good enough in the bar/lounge area to sit back and read a book or play on your puter! They even said it was ok to plug mine in to the electrics in there! The only downside is the fact that the toilet was also in the room, albeit behind a screen wall, which meant if you went as a pair, you would have to be very comfortable with each others bodily functions. I would avoid having a curry if you go on a romantic weekends break :-) read more
