It was absolutely a treat. Delightful food, nice welcome and perhaps the tightest seating in what is likely the smallest cafe I've ever dined in. There's much more room in their restroom. I was literally stuck in my micro seat with my tummy wedged by the table. I've never been so trapped since I was in Giza's largest pyramid - the pyramid of Khufu with a breeze of 50c wafting through. We paid at the counter first and our order was in turn delivered to our micro table. We got two cappuccinos, an apple turnover, or as they put it, chausson aux pommes and an almond croissant. Everything was so delicious and the turnover was buttery appley exceptional. Sliding doors stuff as I'd been in another cafe 5 minutes away earlier that day that I thought I'd lunch in but the coffee it the other place - the separately reviewed Gourmet Tart Co - wasn't good. Had I not tasted their coffee we would have lunched in the Tart place and not gone here. Some days are diamond. read more

This place was cute so I decided to check it out. I ordered a raspberry croissant (which seemed unique since I've never seen one before), an apple turnover for an early morning the next day, and a mint hot chocolate. The raspberry croissant had raspberry jam inside, which was interesting and pretty good. Have yet to try the turnover. The mint hot chocolate was nicely made and the lady was nice to offer to top it off with marshmallows and chocolate shavings. I tried the Apple turnover this morning and it was really good. Doesn't apply to this item since I ate it the next day, but in general, would be good to offer or have an option to warm the pastries. read more

Walking inside, the ambiance of this place looks good and the colorful desserts behind the counter look even better. However, after sitting down with a Chai and one of their Pear Almond Tarts it became very disappointing. For my taste both the dessert and drink were overly sweetened with no depth of flavors or spices.. very sad and disappointed, will not be coming here again. read more

I only wish I had found this little bakery the first day I arrived in Galway. It was the best and least expensive latte I had my whole vacation. We tried the cranberry scone, croissant and chocolate croissant. We couldn't resist and I'm glad we splurged because each item was delicious!!! The croissants were crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, whereas ones at previous places tasted stale. The scones were moist, whereas ones in previous places were too dry. What more can you ask for? Additionally, the staff was efficient and knowledgable. I wish I could go back, but unfortunately for me, it's onto the next spot. read more

Amazing place to have breakfast. I enjoyed a ham-and-cheese croissant with a perfect pain au chocolat. Note that it's considerably cheaper to take away than sit in, but the atmosphere inside is great. read more

Simply the best bakery I have been to in Ireland. Not that difficult one might think, since there are not that many of them, but this one beats a lot of bakeries in France. I am french, so I do have some experience as a consumer ! I can tell when something is being adapted for irish customers (éclairs spring to mind). Any pastry with their homemade chocolate is just to die for. Their coffee is excellent, and their staff are very good. I also like the place, nice atmosphere. You can tell how good this place is when you see the Galwegians queueing for their goodies. Please forget the "bread" you buy in supermarkets and try theirs and then indulge with one of their patisserie. I could go on... read more

I wish that I could say nicer things about this cafe/patisserie. It's a small, but inviting, beautifully designed space with a counter of sweets to die for! The space fills up quickly because it is so popular and it gets a little uncomfortable for those waiting in line. The apricot crossaint I had was fresh and delicious, but the reason I could not rate this place more highly is the extreme inefficiency and hurried attitude they had about their coffee. Each coffee is freshly made to order of course but the person who takes your order is not the same person who writes it down or makes it, so it's an obnoxious game of telephone. As it takes the one crafting the coffees so long to make one drink, having a mess up delays everyone else.We must have waited 15 minutes for them to get our simple drinks correct, all due to inefficiency and poor attention to detail. Then the coffee maker acted as though it was the patrons' fault and not her coworkers. Perhaps another visit would change my mind, but for now I remain unimpressed. One benefit of the inefficiency however was that they didn't charge me enough so after the ordeal I at least got my drinks for free, but not because they were giving me good customer service... just because they have a terrible system in place. read more
