Atmosphere 3/5: Nothing exceptional in this restaurant. The place is a little bit dark during the days which is not something I like in a restaurant. The place looks like an Irish Bar as described earlier. Food 3/5: I ordered some Tagliatelle al a Bolognese as Menu du Jour. The Tagliatelle are coming with a Mixed Green Salad. The Salad was good with some French Dressing. The dressing wasn't homemade but it was tasty. The Tagliatelle were OK. It was eatable but I thought the sauce was a little bit tasteless. Service 4/5: Service was good. The waitress came at our table right away to take our orders and she was checking with us to see if the food was alright. My sister had a Horse Steak that she couldn't finish but the waitress made sure to ask her if anything was wrong with the steak since she couldn't finish it. Good restaurant for a quick lunch if you don't have time or you don't know where to go. There's still better places in Lausanne.

An absolutely great deal if you're living in Geneva and need a meal that actually delivers on the…read moreamount of money you pay. In Geneva you're looking to pay ~50CHF for really really mediocre food. Everything is overpriced there and because Geneva's top restaurants prey on the unrefined palates of bankers, businessmen and policymakers who have to travel through Geneva, it leaves people looking for an affordable, high quality meal really out of luck. Lucky for you, you can travel to the neighboring French town of Ferney Voltaire (take the F bus) and enjoy a fantastic prix fixe meal at Hotel de France for the same price and get in addition to a starter, plate, and dessert -- an amuse bouche as well as a selection of cheese from one of the most diverse cheese carts I've yet encountered in Europe. I generally turn my nose at hotel restaurants but Hotel de France does a good job of putting together a menu that will please anyone. Vegetarian options available. Each plate is composed and recognizes a need for balancing flavors and textures. Each plate is artistically presented. Bread is complimentary and is required for sopping up the rich cream sauces that accompany many of the dishes. Best in Ferney-Voltaire, maybe even in Geneva for the price. (Accepts CHF and Euros)

We did, but not seated in his area. We had Martin and he was great also. The first visit we had reservations and the second one we didn't. I do recommend calling ahead or online booking. The first visit we would not have gotten in and the second visit we barely got a table...think maybe we got a table because they recognized us from before. Items that we ordered were the: Frist Visit: - Lake Perch pan sautéed in butter and served with fries and a side salad. Wow, those tiny little perch filets were awesome. Perfectly cooked, very fresh with absolutely no fishy taste. The fries were very good - crispy and hot. The side salad was very good with a great dressing. - Pan Sautéed Veal with Mushrooms and served with veggies. The veal was browned and the taste was right there. It was tender and needed no extra seasoning at all. The veggies were cooked - not too much but just enough. Second Visit: - Steak - maybe entrecôte - the only one with a peppercorn sauce. We asked for it to be cooked to a medium and it came medium!!! The peppercorn sauce was to die for. We share part of this steak and just kept going back to the sauce. Excellent. I came with fries and veggies. I asked for a very small serving of fries and was accommodated. I also asked if I could have that wonderful side salad as my veggies and was told no. But way into my meal Martin came over and said that I could have the salad. At this time we were both so full that I declined. We were better off. - Penne Pasta with a Spicy Tomato sauce. Weak link of the two visits but hit the spot. The sauce was not spicy at all. The pasta was cooked appropriate. Just couldn't compare with the rest of the food. Highly recommend. Also one should make a booking.
