After weeks of Spanish and French food, my cravings for Asian food could no longer be ignored…read more I noticed they have Vietnamese fondue which is basically "bo 7 mon" (aka 7 courses of beef) minus the other 6 dishes. It's pretty straight forward - you get a warm bowl of water to dip the dry rice paper in. Then you place your rice paper on your plate (key is to keep the dish dry) and load up on vegetables. you get a vinegar broth to cook the meat in and once meat is cooked, you place it on top of your vegetables / rice paper. Start rolling your own rolls and dip in the fish sauce. The rice paper is too small to try to fold it all on 4 sides. At home, I eat this quite a bit (of course, a bit different) so I was happy to see this so close to our place. Ordering was very straight forward. Service is attentive. Bonus: the owner speaks Vietnamese, some waitresses speak Chinese, most speak English, and all of them speak French. You can't go wrong. The Vietnamese fondue hit the spot for us and brought me back home in the middle of Aix. Even though the menu swings from Thai to Chinese to Korean (which is pretty weird but not really surprising), the Vietnamese fondue is fairly authentic. No mam nem sauce but the nuoc mam was fine. Ask for the rooster sauce for spice. It's about 19 euro per person to order this. All vegetables can be refilled for free. You can definitely have a nice meal here without hurting your wallet. We ended up ordering a bottle of rose and 2 extra plates of beef (30 euro) so our bill was about 90 euro total. Pretty pricy for something I eat so regularly at home but worth it for us.

The restaurant is located in a neighborhood only lively during night time. Bars on the street, attracting hundreds of students to this area, seeking for drinks, smoke, socializing, and the most obvious food/snack. Once we get inside we were politely greeted and unlike most restaurants, the owners do speak fluent English. The lady owner used to have Teppanyaki restaurants in Miami but decided to go back to France after 15 years (she was born/raised in France). We ordered the combos, starting from chicken soup, Vietnamese salad w/ chicken/crab, and the main courses: caramelized pork and chicken on top of fried egg noodles. The starters were great especially the soup and they are quite filling! The main courses were well seasoned and satisfied our craving for Asian food. The ambiance is different (classy Asian) and service decent. Between the two of us we spent €39 and completely full... definitely would recommend this place

Good food. It's a bit different than Thai food in the US, but it is still very tasty. The chef is…read moreThai and the menu looks fantastic. Two small complaints. First, the price: It was a bit expensive. Second, the surprise: We ordered the special of the day (the pork curry), assuming it could be a bit more expensive. Well, that came out at like $35 euros! You need to ask for the price of everything - if you care about money. When we came in, the waitress seemed bothered that we didn't have a reservation, but they still found a table for us. Aside from that, the service was very good. People were nice. The place was pretty. If it is hot, it could be a bit tough. The restaurant looked very nice.

We had lunch here yesterday and I ordered the most Thai thing on the menu, the dish was under "Thai for Thai" - a fish curry ( no coconut milk - not that type of curry) with vegetables - 99 percent of Thai Restaurants in Los Angeles don't serve this and we have a huge Thai community. For anyone to know this dish, he/she must have lived in Thailand or be married to one. At any rate, it was DELICIOUS. It's was painfully spicy because I asked for it; the level of " spicy " in France is laughable even if you beg for it. I knew I would suffer the consequence for eating something that spicy but I DID NOT care, the flavor was too good. We also ordered other items which were also delicious. Thank You Bamboo Thai for taking my palate back to Thailand!!!

From the outside and walking into the restaurant, we weren't particularly impressed with the ambiance. We walked through an entrance that did not seem like a restaurant, as it was cluttered with items and was hot. We were eventually led to the outdoor patio that served as the dining area for the restaurant. It was a covered patio surrounded by plants, some of them brown and wilted. Looks is very deceiving, as the food was quite delicious. We ordered the glass noodles with prawns and spicy noodles, also with prawns. For dessert, we ordered the pandan sticky rice with mango. Our server took excellent care of us and even brought some complimentary appetizers (cheese wrapped in egg roll wrapper). While the ambiance wasn't the greatest, we really enjoyed the food and the extra friendly service. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Definitely an affordable place, each plate is around €14-17 and it's plenty of food. My vegetarian friend was pretty happy with their vegetarian options. Staff was very friendly and most spoke English. Definitely recommend and would be back!
