Sometimes I don't immediately like a place, but the attraction grows with time. It was like that with this restaurant, and within half an hour I was enchanted!
The place isn't hard to find, as it's the only restaurant on the main road through a very small village. The first time I came there, however, was 16 September 2014 - the holiday season was over and it appeared to be closed. Luckily it was open, but my wife and I were the only guests. I remember seeing a sign "snack bar" somewhere, but inside there's a room with a pleasurable atmosphere.
They serve hamburger and fries (chips) if you want, but they serve regional delicacies as well. My favourite is the "confit de canard", which is better here than in other, more expensive restaurants in the region.
But it gets even better! The waitress (/owner?) was an absolute delight! We don't speak French, she doesn't speak English, but we communicated very well. Very soon my wife and I both felt a fondness for her (which I find unusual). We were so pleased that we came back 2 days later; again a wonderful evening. Unfortunately our vacation has ended. If we had stayed longer, we would've eaten there much more often. read more
