This was my first visit to The Lambourne, as I was on my way to see a performance at The Wimbledon…read moreTheatre. I'd seen some very positive reviews, which was a big plus, and I was recommended by a friend. As I had to be at the theatre for a 7pm performance, I booked a table for 5pm, just to be on the safe side and because I didn't know the distance from the restaurant to the theatre (a five minute walk as I subsequently found out). I arrived and was warmly greeted by Siobhan (who I later found our was the supervisor) and was escorted to my table (being the first there, I was offered a choice of wherever I wanted to sit). Whilst I settled down at the table, I was offered a drink and shown the menu (which I believe was newly introduced last week). There was a good choice of starters, mains, deserts and side dishes to choose from, offering something to satisfy most guests. I opted for the calamari to start, the veal for mains, with a side order of vegetables, and a salted caramel desert. The food was really first class and well presented. Service was really good and if ever you get the opportunity to have Siobhan as your host, then you will be in very good hands. My meal cost me £35.15, which as it goes isn't one of the cheapest meals I've had. That said, I didn't expect it to be and I was more than prepared to pay the price. I've eaten at other establishment's in Wimbledon and paid more, but received a lot less, so I thought I did very well. I'd not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone, and it really does make a great pre-theatre dining venue. Well done to all staff members at The Lambourne, seen and unseen.

Quick glance: + good waiting staff…read more+ relaxing atmosphere (weekday evening) + wine by glasses available - unproportional main - unseasoned sides I went with my friend to Lambourne Bar and Grill on a Wednesday night for pre-show dinner, where we had one hour before the show starts down the road. When we got there at 6:30pm, the place was fairly quiet, with a handful of people at the bar drinking, and another 2-3 tables of diners in the restaurant area. We picked this restaurant because it was close by to our show and had a pre-theatre menu, but because of our time constraint we decided for just the main course from the a la carte menu. I had salmon and my friend had chicken, both of which were served with mash. The piece of salmon / chicken was pretty small when compared against the big dallop of mash served, so the presentation made it feel like there wasn't much food on the plate except potato. We also ordered two different sides of vegetables, which looked nice but weren't seasoned to bring out the tastes. The waiter was fairly alert and even gave us a 15 minutes "warning" as we told him we were in a hurry to catch a 7:30pm show. Overall, the restaurant is a bit of a walk away from the "happening" part of Wimbledon and the food wasn't spectacular to draw in punters. The staff can cater for those dining in a hurry before catching a show.

Honestly, after The Ledbury got its third star, I was a little worried it might get too "precious"…read moreor stiff. I've been to enough 3-star spots in London where the food looks like a science experiment but tastes like nothing. Thankfully, Brett Graham is still keeping it real. The plating is genuinely stunning--the kind of art where you actually want to stop and take a photo--but the best part is that it's actually delicious. It's food you genuinely enjoy eating, not just something you admire for the technique. The pigeon courses were the absolute standout for me. They serve it in stages, which I loved. You get this perfectly glazed breast that is so tender it's basically like butter, followed by a little "snack" of the leg that has this incredible deep, smoky flavor. It's rare to find a place that treats game with that much respect without overcomplicating it. If you're on the fence, definitely go for the wine pairing. The Sommelier was a total legend--super approachable, no snobbery, and clearly obsessed with what's in the cellar. The pairings were exceptional and honestly made the meal for me. They aren't just pouring the standard labels; they're finding really interesting stuff that makes the earthy notes in the pigeon pop. Price-wise, it's a 3-star Michelin in Notting Hill, so it's going to be a hit to the wallet. It's on par with the other big names in the city, but it felt worth every penny for a special night out. The service is polished, but they don't make you feel like you're sitting in a library--you can actually have a laugh and enjoy yourself. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in London. Period. Elite Tip: If they have the signature mushroom tartlet on the menu when you go, don't even think about it--just eat it.

Not only was the food, amazing, atmosphere, gorgeous, but the service was funny, entertaining, expressive, and personal. It wasn't stuffy like some of the restaurants we have been to. My boyfriend and I have been waiting a couple of months to eat at Naughty Piglets after hearing…read moreabout how good the food is. I booked a reservation for 2 for this past Valentine's Day about a month in advance, and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and dimly-lit, which was incredibly romantic. We sat at a high table near the bar at the entrance of the restaurant but still felt like we had a tremendous amount of privacy. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and explained the menu well. And, OH! The food. We ordered ham croquettes, the Devon crab, the gnocchi with lobster cream, aged beef, and the burrata, finishing our dinner off with the cheese plate. The crab was the highlight of the meal, creamy and delicious, fresh and light. We cleaned our plates after each dish, which were smaller than your average portion size but perfect to share between 2 people. The prices were a bit steep, but the quality and presentation of each dish were so worth it. Naughty Piglets was the perfect place to splash out for a special occasion and enjoy share-able plates of fresh, taste-bud-tingling food. Each dish was complex and delicious enough to have us wanting more, until our next plate was delivered! I would recommend booking in advance if you'd like a prime table or a later dinner time, especially on a weekend, and booking for a party of 2 specifically. The menu seems designed for that (as our waitress explained) and it makes the experience that much more intimate.

Everything was spot on -- perfectly flavoured and very fresh. I especially enjoyed the Devon crab and the beef -- they were perfectly substantive but not overpowering. Service was very good.
