Fun weekend activity in Montreal for small children. This farm offers 1 hour tours that involve…read morefeeding and petting various animals. The animals include rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, alpacas, a small cow and even some wild pigs. They also have a friendly dog named Ava that greets you as you walk in the farm. Tickets are $14 per person and free for children 2 and younger. Totally worthwhile, as it's a pretty immersive experience and you're surrounded by tons of animals. The animals are friendly and not aggressive. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely wear some boots to the farm (especially if it's rained recently) and follow the directions on their website to find the farm.

There are weekend tours here throughout the year. Check their FB page or website for details…read more An intimate permaculture farm that is founded in values that respect the animals and the earth. Right when you walk onto the farm you're greeted by their gorgeous friendly dog Ava surrounded by a pond filled with chirpy ducks. You'll probably feel right at home here, as I did. For a reasonable fee, you can have a guided tour of the rabbits, goats, alpacas, and a free running miniature cow and miniature horses! Yes you can feed them! Some tips: 1) you must chop the food into bite sizes for the alpacas! 2) No cucumbers 3) No loose plastic bags. So, it's best to bring your food ready to feed the animals in a bag. Make sure you watch small children as the goats can be energetic when eating. Yes, you're in the enclosure with them right in the middle of the action! They also offer volunteer opportunities to the public a few times a year. I didn't find it too muddy but wear outdoor shoes just in case. Bring some hand wipes as I'm not sure if there's a hand washing station.

If you haven't explored the Granby Zoo and you live in upstate NY and Canada WHAT ARE YOU DOING?…read moreFirst and foremost, everything is better with the Canadians in the winter. What other zoo can you happily walk around in snow pants and see beautiful animals when it's absolutely freezing outside?! It was not even crowded and all the animals are active. They have such a wide range of amazing animals such as elephants, giraffes, lemurs, monkeys, leopards, moles, birds, tigers, lions, red pandas, kangaroos, turtles hippos, bats and beyond! You can have the opportunity to feed and ride horses and goats! They are incredibly friendly and will rub against you and follow your children; they're ridiculously hilarious and don't care about personal space. So affectionate! In the summer you can have the water park and other amenities, but the winter time we had so much fun! The mascots will have dance parties and greet you! They're so much fun! Also they speak French and English here! Also don't forget to stop by the gift shop OMG THEY HAVE EVERYTHING! The best gift shop ever and I bought my favorite lemur stuffed animal!! We had the best time here and hope you get to visit this incredible zoo!

Minimal English translation specially on signages, everything is on french. Some summer job kids…read morestaff know how to speak english. Moderately well maintained zoo. Accepts credit/debit but bring cash since their terminals might fail and you cant take the transaction(which happened to us, so we werent able to ride the train). Bring food! Most stalls when we visited are closed, their own cafeteria is the only opened and it is expensive for the quality and quantity and does not taste good. Their is a stroller rental if you forgot one near the entrance. There was no wait on our visit and moderate crowd as what othrrs say but for us it was alot.
