That's totally fair. However it did mean I couldn't take many photos for Yelp! We stayed one night here while transiting between Rome and Nice. Our room overlooked the square with the Christopher Columbus (boooooo) statue and was literally 30 seconds from the main train station. Our room was beautiful and massive, very comfortable bed and we loved the mechanical blackout shades that blocked sound and light from the busy streets below. The coolest surprise here with the Spa. If your room comes with access like ours did, don't skip out on taking advantage of it. Each room with spa access can book one 1-hour session per day. The spa includes a circuit of hydrotherapy pool, steam room, sauna room, emotional shower (yes really that's it's name), hot stone lounge, and ice sink. Silence is appreciated. There are no phones allowed for the privacy of the other guests which is limited to six people. Bathing suits are required. It was incredibly relaxing and cured quite a bit of travel soreness. Fresh juice, water, and hot herbal tea along with robes and slippers are provided. After our spa visit we hit the bar, it was super swanky and we felt the need to dress up a bit! But it was fun. The bartender provided a very high level of service as we lounged on a gorgeous cream and blue davenport style couch and enjoyed our drinks and nibbles. Breakfast was included and fine, but the buffet felt disorganized and it was awkward trying to order a coffee, there wasn't a dedicated barista so you had to kind of flag someone that was minding the buffet or seating patrons. I would have been happy making my own coffee so this isn't meant to come across as snobbish! But they didn't allow it so it was sort of a problem. If you're in Genoa, I do recommend a stay here. One night was great, two would have been fine, but more than...ehhh. Go venture out to Portofino instead!

The bathroom had every amenity that you could need. We had a walk-in shower and a bath tub. The towels were large and great they also had a warming bar for the towels bath robes, and slippers they have a coffee machine complementary and they give you a bottle of water every day. The TV unfortunately didn't have very many channels in English. I don't understand why they don't put the fashion channel on all the TVs in Italy, since this is a one of fashion capital of the world, the roof floor seven where you had breakfast every morning was a nice way to start your day overlooking the city of Genoa the breakfast was plentiful. Anything you could possibly eat including gluten free products more than I've seen in most hotels, and the homemade pies if you stay here too many days, you would definitely gain weight from that the staff was excellent. You got your own food but they did bring you your coffee, we ate dinner in the restaurant which was the same place where breakfast was it was good but I really enjoyed the Trattoria that also part of hotel which was down the street from the hotel and since we already have been up in the morning and having that great view of Genoa, it was nice if you're staying in the hotel, I would definitely recommend eating in both of the restaurants and if you're not staying in a hotel, but you're in the area they are definitely worth your time to try and definitely make sure you get breakfast included because it was delicious I was happy that they had the restaurants in the hotel because the areas a little seedy remember we are in a train station area but it's very good for walking During the day to all the activities that you will be doing when you're in the city I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again, and I'm going to check the hotel chain for other hotels in Italy

The staff are friendly, and they set up a third bed in a double room for me and my friends. We fit comfortably, and were exited to see a real bathtub. The floor we stayed on is lavender in color and theme which is really pretty. Towels are soft. The main beds were more comfortable than the cot, but that's to be expected.

The hotel is perfectly located, 5 minutes from the station (on the way there is a supermarket), and really close to the beaches and the city centre too. The rooms were clean and nice, with air conditioning :-) The water debit in our shower was really poor, but apart from this, we were happy with our room. The breakfast is served as a buffet. You need to order any kind of coffee from the hotel staff but apart from this, everything is on self service. The juices were not freshly squeezed, there were different kind of pastries, bread, and also cheese, mozzarella, tomato, etc. Breakfast was ok. We chose the half board formula and so we had dinner there every night. There was a menu especially for the hotel members on half board with a choice of three primi piatti, three secondi piatti and two desserts. My husband is vegetarian and there was not always an option for him : the first day they offered him grilled vegetables as a secondo piatto (this was a bit disappointing as it was a side dish). The next day, they tried to offer the same option but he managed to get something else. The food was overall nice and tasty. On Sunday, they had a big buffet with tons of different food and an orchestra playing, it was really a nice evening ! The hotel also has a spa. As an hotel guest, you are entitled to 90 minutes in the spa for free. You need to book with the reception or the spa reception. There are a sauna, hammam, swimming pool with massaging jets and a relaxing room. It's a small area, maybe 10 persons can enjoy the spa at the same time. There are not enough chairs around the pool, so this was a bit annoying as we didn't know where to put our towels... Anyway, the lady at the spa reception was nice and helpful. We had a lot of questions for the staff at the reception about how to visit the area. They were really helpful and nice and gave us good advice. Regarding the restaurant, the waiters have to be sorted in two groups. Some were really nice and cheerful and friendly. Others looked annoyed, bored and like they really didn't want to be there... Take your pick. We really enjoyed our stay and we were really amazed by the beauty of the Cinque Terre and Portofino.

The staff speak a little English and with my little Italian, we manged to get the message across. I rented a pair of flip flops and I stopped by the pool each day of my stay. The spa offers a whirlpool tub (turn it on before entering, switch is on the wall, near floor level between the pool and whirlpool tub) with two Chroma-therapy areas on either side of the bench seat. There is also a turkish bath, sauna, Chroma-therapy shower with a salt scrub mixture available to guests. The showers are behind the pool, near the massage room: two open bay and two with doors for privacy. Bring a towel with you as none was offered, although as a hotel guest, I brought one from the room and didn't think to ask for one! I made an appointment for a deep tissue massage and the masseuse did a wonderful job! It was both relaxing and worked out the knots in my back and shoulders. The masseuse was very sweet and funny. It was a very pleasant experience. After the massage she recommended I hop in the whirlpool for a bit, which I did. Then I made myself an herbal tea, available to guests in the pool area, and relaxed on one of the lounge chairs before hopping in the pool for a gentle swim. The ambiance here is so calming. It's an experience away from the cares of the day where you can indulge and relax. Wish I lived in the area so I could visit more often. Update Oct 2017: On my last visit I got an aromatherapy relaxing massage. I can not even express how lovely this massage was! The masseuse did an amazing job and I was on cloud nine the rest of the day. You really should give this a try.
