Terrible restaurant. Don't come here. My husband and I absolutely love French food and have never had such awful food and service.
My husband's steak tartare was mediocre at best. And my seared tuna came out medium well (and was well done in some portions) despite my husband previously confirming in French that the tuna would be done "toute rose" (all pink). Interestingly, the French couple who sat next to us also ordered the tuna, and received a nice thick piece cooked medium rare. We kindly and politely informed the waitress that my tuna was overcooked, and we pointed to our neighbors' tuna as a point of comparison. (Confirming that we weren't being overly critical, our neighbors told us that they also thought my tuna was overcooked.) The waitress took my plate back to the kitchen and came back to our table almost immediately, informing us that the chef refused to give me a non-overcooked piece of tuna. The message she conveyed was that our neighbors' tuna was thicker, so it made sense that theirs was less well done. In my opinion, no respectable chef should take that position; it should be obvious that if a piece of tuna is thinner, you simply shouldn't cook it as long as you would a thicker piece.
We again expressed dissatisfaction when we paid the bill (after I had barely touched the overcooked, tasteless tuna). The chef came out to reiterate what the waitress had told us--i.e., my tuna was cooked the way it was because he had given me a thinner piece. He was inexcusably unapologetic.
It's clear that this is a tourist restaurant, and that the chef has no interest in ensuring he has happy, repeat diners. If you want good food and good service, please look elsewhere. read more
