I hate to writing disparaging reviews of local, ethical (apparently), creative eateries, but I was…read moredisappointed here. After waiting about 20 minutes on a hot day, I reached the counter to request the flavor of the day - cacao sorbet. I LOVE chocolate sorbet in general, as it tends to be rich and a touch bitter and not too sweet. The cacao sorbet here was more subtle and not as chocolatey-fabulous and others I've had, and I cook/bake with cacao so I know more or less what to expect.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of requesting whipped cream on top. The cream was fine, but the ice cream artist applied twice as much Chantilly as there was sorbet, drowning it and throwing the flavor off balance. Oops. I just wanted a touch but was so surprised that I didn't stop her - plus I expected her to stop! I can't believe I'm complaining about too much whipped cream, but my expectations were higher.
Oh well...
