We signed up with Le Food Tour during our short stay in Paris in Dec 2014. We were excited for the food tour and thought it was worth EVERY penny. Matthias was our tour guide and did an excellent job! The tour included tastings at the oldest meat/chacuterie store, the best bread in town (baguettes!!), the best cheese in town, and pastries throughout Paris.
We actually loved the food tour sites so much that we went BACK the next day to buy more items that we tasted that day. MAtthias gave us a little history and background info on each eatery, local sites, and architecture info as we were walking to the next destination. It was freezing that day too, so we did lots of "ducking into shops" to get warm and taste food, then continuing on. We did stop for a sitting break in a wine shop for a glass of wine, then continued on!
We felt like even though we were on a food tour, we got more info about Paris and what the locals like to do from MAtthias compared to anyone we talked to. He helped us to make reservations at a local restaurant, suggested a open food market for us to walk around in and help us plan the rest of our trip. We couldn't have asked for more! read more
