The costumers' clothes were completely soaked in milk forcing him to leave the restaurant and come back an hour later. In the meantime the waiters just served the food, which was of course cold when the costumer came back. Again no comment, no apologies, and the costumer had to insist for the food to be warmed up at least. Everything was put on the bill as if nothing had happened. I definitely won't go there again. It is not worth the food, there are other good Persian places.

It's located in a quite residential street and there is nothing but apartments around here. It's away from the city centre and obviously popular with people in the area. The name Djadoo in Hindi means "magic" and I suspect the same in Persian, as they have their napkins with Alladins Magic Lamp under the logo ;-)) The place is reasonably big, yet cosy. The place was packed but they were kind enough to get us a table. Our waitress was really sweet and very friendly and was quite happy to make recommendations for us. The menu here is huge and has many classical Persian dishes and many North African dishes from Morocco and Tunisia with a bit of turkey thrown in. They have a varied wine list from Lebanese, Turkish, Moroccon, Tunisian, French and Israeli wine. They also have some classic Persian drinks like pomegranate juice and so on. We decided to have a mixed starter and some tagine for main. The food here is excellent and full of flavour. The lamb was simply amazing and it just fell of the bone and no knife was needed for it :-)) It is relatively mild and has lots of piquante, fruity, saffrony and other sweet spice flavours. Persian food is slightly more greasy and creamy, but tastes heavenly. The saffron rice pudding with the pomegranate sorbet for dessert was a hit and once again a recommendation from the waitress. I usually do this in a new place, ask the staff for recommendations and try a few things. Service was super good and despite it being full it was quick and friendly. I found out during my conversation with the waitress that the restaurant has been open for 3 years. I would come back here in a heartbeat. This is excellent Persian / Oriental / North African cuisine with beautiful flavours, good service and not too expensive. It's certainly not a cheap place to eat but the quality is excellent. If you want to try something out of the usual this is really a great place to try. Ask for some recommendation and enjoy your meal. I could not fault our experience here tonight.

I seated myself at a table, and someone brought me a menu promptly. It was quite hefty, showing that this place had more options than what you could see at the grab and go counter in the front. I ordered the falafel teller (plate) and a water, and while I was waiting and small basket of pita bread (very thin) was brought to my table. When my meal arrived, the falafel was very hot, obviously fried fresh, and the sesame dip was splendid with it. My simple side salad was also very refreshing, as I was still hot from exploring the castle ruins that morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Heidelberg. I legitimately think the people at the table next to us got annoyed at these overly animated Americans. I will dream about these donut-shaped falafels as there is nothing like them where I live (so so far away). We also opted for a glass of Lebanese dry white wine, which was super crisp and pleasant. Overall, a must-try when in Heidelberg. I wish I had been able to take some more to-go- especially since we saw that that they have convenient lunch-box style offerings for the college students.

In the tagine the lamb just fell apart and was combined with caramelized plums and almonds which was an amazing flavor and texture sensation. My lamb fillet had tender meat and a really flavorful stay of roasted vegetables. I would recommend both dishes. For dessert, a decadent chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. It's a busy place so make a reservation. Especially on the weekend. There is an English menu offered, if needed.
