The staff are excellent, and there is a nice outdoor area on the street. However, the bar is a little tacky - don't expect anything all that fancy. Basically it is what I would call a 'railway pub', namely a pub near a railway station where you can kill time waiting for a train by having a beer.

Anyways, sat down with my lady friend and ordered a glenny on the rocks. The barkeep was very friendly and helped me through my bad french. She then offered me a cigarette and lit me up. A home from home for the expat Brits in les environs. Gilles as good as a landlord as you could imagine (single incurable drawback being Southampton fan - let's put that down to poor genes..). Staff invariably great. Good real ale on tap. Curry house next door....all in the heart of the beautiful town of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
