They got to know us in just a couple days and made every restaurant reservation for us. Just off the lobby is a small bar that is well stocked and managed by the front desk. Seating there is comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and excellent. As for the rooms ... we could not believe how spacious, comfortable, quiet and pleasant in terms of temperature they were. The beds were also excellent and the bathrooms spacious. We were totally blown away by the quality. To top it all off, the location is perfect. Just a few blocks from the city center, and as a result many restaurants. We never had to walk more than 10 minutes any evening for our dinner reservations. And, even the Bayeux Tapestry is just a few minute walk. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about his hotel in any way. If you are visiting Bayeux, stay here.

After settling in, we joined our fellow travelers for a drink in a beautiful salon. We opted for the wonderful dinner created by the Chateau chef. Candlelight, wonderful wines and a tasty selection of Normandy dishes. Breakfast the next day was equally both stunning and homey. Hard to pull off but Chateau Canisy does it. The location was great for both exploring Normandy and Mont St. Michel. Can't wait to go back. Give it a try if you are exploring northeast France. Beautiful, friendly, well appointed. The welcoming by Marc and Laurence was warm and friendly and I should not forget Oscar, the very clever and kind dog who watches over the premises. We felt very safe. The rooms are spacious, clean and cosy. They have a double and single bed. There is a separate common room that serves as a kitchen and there is a little fridge and microwave you can use. Perfect if you want to have your lunch or dinner "at home". In the morning you get served breakfast: coffee, tea, fresh made apple juice and a choice of home made jam you can add to the typical French bread we love so much. If you are still hungry you can treat yourself on the typical Norman cake. While having breakfast Marc will reveal you some interesting topics of the history or give you tips and advice of places you should not miss. This is why we went to Bayeux to visit the tapestry with the history of William the Conqueror and Harold the betrayer. If Marc wouldn't be running a little farm and guesthouses, he sure would be a guide or a history teacher. Laurence is a lovely host, friendly and kind. We really felt at home the moment we set foot in that lovely garden. I loved the flowers, the roses... everything breathed hospitality. The lovely garden was inviting and so we ended up several evenings with the other guests to spend a nice evening together. I sure would love to go back again... rather sooner then later. We feel lucky to have picked out this B&B. It must have been good fate. Price/quality it is a really good deal. Best way to make a reservation is to write them an email. We got as far as Bayeux by train but it was the off season and everything was shut down so we were having a hard time finding a way to get to the beach. Nothing was open anywhere. We wandered into the Hotel le Bayeux and even though we weren't staying there, the really friendly staff took the time to help us find a rental car and gave us perfect directions (all in English!) for getting to the memorial, cemetery and beach. We were flying out of Paris the following day, if it wasn't for their help, we would have missed all of Normandy. Instead, it was the best day of our trip to France. The location is great, the hotel looked really nice and if the rooms are half as good as the staff, its worth a stay. Hope we can go back some day and spend a few days here.

There are very young inexperienced people taking care of an entire hotel that offers free breakfast. The rooms are dilapidated and not clean. Amenities are nonexistent, and any problem addressed with the front desk receives the response "I have to wait until the owner gets here" and then you never hear from the owner. I'm not sure there is one. Breakfast is okay but the bacon is raw and put in a warmer with the hopes it will cook. Everything else is cold and you must microwave it to be warmed. Coffee machine broke often; ice machine worked intermittently. The rooms are better explained through pictures. Last day the cook didn't show up, the night manager was back in to cover and the young girl who was afraid of her own shadow grabbed her coat and left at some point. This place was expensive and not worth it at all.
