Was craving asian food during our last night in Paris. So glad my girlfriend found this place and so glad we decided to stay here to eat knowing that it looked all fancy and we didn't looked dress for the place. Happy hour was about to end in 5 minutes so we ordered 7 Hennessy side cars lol the waiter was in shocked but was happy to get us our drinks just in time before it was over. Btw our waiters name was Anton and he was great! The drink was delicious and strong so it was perfect for dinner. What we ordered was the dim sum sampler, side of shrimp fried rice, I think it was green curry noodles, the noodles with salmon, shrimp and duck egg rolls, the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls and the goose entree. Boy was everything so good or maybe I was just hungry lol but really the food was good. My favorite dishes was the noodles with salmon, the vermicelli and the goose. Wow I never thought I would have goose but it was really good. Reminded me of steak in a way with a good seat on the outside and tender in the middle. The noodles were good too and good size salmon pieces and was cooked perfectly. And the vermicelli was good too and the nuoc mam wasn't too sweet or salty. Got lost in the area and decided to stop in. We (my cousin and I) decided to sit at the bar since it was a full house. The decor was old, chic and comfortable...closed blinds and dim lights. We each had 3 drinks that was bomb as heck (amazing lol) After our third drink we were able to move to a table. Started off with squid and shrimp fritters that were tasty as heck and for my main I had a curry noodle dish yummm. Afterwards, as we were leaving we realized there was a live band downstairs where you could have also sat and ate. Bummer wish we knew... apparently they sometimes have live concerts, saw a poster from Kendrick Lamar's previous show there#wishiwasthere. we went on down for a bit and had another drink but honestly i was tipsy and needed to catch a uber pronto lol those drinks were strong af. Amazing, multi-story venue that feels like a Shanghai speakeasy in the 1930's. The drinks are fresh (lots of ginger and lychee-inspired beverages) and Asian-themed, and the ambiance is really romantic and secluded. The upstairs is surprisingly spacious. Appetizers were OK, about as good as average Paris Chinese restaurant but acceptable. Would definitely go there first for the drinks though! read more

I was a little wary when I walked into the entrance. There is a door leading downstairs on the left to what seems like either a performance area or a karaoke bar. I wouldn't know because I didn't go down but I just inferred from the pictures. To the left is where the dining area is situated. The place is dark, intimate, and decorated like a nightclub from the late 90s or early 2000s: black and red. We split a leather couch with a table at each end with another couple who were getting hot and heavy throughout the night. This is definitely a place for the grown and sexy. I thought because of the nightclub vibe, that the dining experience was going to be a miss. I was happy to be wrong. The food and drinks were on point. We started off the night with cocktails. I had the manhattan (with Rye whiskey) and my wife had a fruity lychee cocktail called La China. For an appetizer we shared the vegetable steamed dumplings and my wife had the curry lamb and I had the duck breast. Both were delicious, cooked perfectly with great flavors, and presented well. The service was attentive and relaxed. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I think this would be a great place to host an event or even a large get together for friends. Reminiscent of a 1920's Shanghai Speakeasy. Come here at night to enjoy a cozy romantic dinner on the main floor or drinks and live music downstairs. Recommended occasions: Birthday Drinks. dates. stay on the main floor if you want to hear each other. Basement with live music can get quite loud. I started with a Mai Tai which I really liked. Afterwards, as a starter I chose a mix of all the Dim Sum they offer in their menu. They came with three different dips and it all tasted delicious! As main dish I had the Chicken Tempura which I also liked, but it was not outstanding. What was really nice was the sticky rice (Riz feuille de lotus vapeur) which I had as side order. The interior of the restaurant is rather dim with many red elements. I liked the cosy atmosphere. read more

I tried this restaurant on a Sunday for a brunch and I really enjoyed it. The buffet is succulent with a good choice of French/Chinese food. There is really lots of different things, sweet and salty, to satisfy all your morning envies. Le China is one of those restaurants that transcends you to a different time, perhaps 30's or 40's, in Paris. Located near the metro Bastille, it embodies the sophistication and laidback modernity of the neighborhood and its patrons. The food, unfortunately was rather mediocre, but the atmosphere of the restaurant was so enjoyable that it was a pleasure to just sit back and sip a few cocktails. Also, there's a wonderfully quaint performance space upstairs ... definitely worth checking out. read more

We enjoyed a very nice meal (and cocktails) at Le China. The environment is really fun, dark, and 'night-club' / loungish. We were not there for an evening/performance, but that would probably be fun as well. We enjoyed a few plates of dim-sum appetizers- a steamed plate, a fried plate, and a 'bun'- noodle/salad dish with beef. Everything was tasty- not 'amazing' but quite good. I would return. read more

Feel almost bad leaving a negative review. Great atmosphere and prior reviews. My girlfriend and I walked nearly 1mile to get to this restaurant. Unfortunately neither of us speak French even though we try. The manager greeted us well, but it seemed no one wanted to serve us once we were seated. I ran a timer to see how long it would take to et attention to our table despite several hand waves and polite excuse mua 25min had ran by, nearly walking out. Finally a wine. By the time we wanted to order food the server, very unhelpful even English speaking, said the kitchen was about to close. So I rushed to find a picture of the exact food I wanted since he was unwilling to help and showed it to him. Another very willing server was also translating since she wasn't our server. He simply said we don't have it and dropped the conversation. The whole experience was as if we weren't welcome and due to not being French weren't going to be served and our money wasn't good.
