Just thinking about this experience has got me drooling. Pavlov would be proud. There was not one thing on the tasting menu that wasn't delicious. The service was great, and they were very accommodating to us English speakers. The location is also very convenient to the center of town which made it easy for us to walk from out hotel. It was also easy to get a table because due to being on American eating schedule we showed up right as they opened.. actually a few minutes before and then we awkwardly waited outside while trying not to look to eager or rush the staff.

We got the tasting menu here and it was amazing! My favorite was the sea bass carpaccio. The flavors were surprising with grapefruit gel, mayo, sage oil and some other things. It tasted really good. Other people in my group loved the tuna the most and the pork belly the most. All around yummy (:

I loved this place. I found it on a local's list of recommendations. I agree with all the positive reviews. Staff was extremely friendly even though I didn't say a word of French. The waiter translated the entire menu for me, and I didn't ask for him to do that. Everything I got was delicious - butternut squash soup, catch of the day, and the avocado cream dessert. It's a shame they're closed on Sundays, or I would have gone back. I just loved sitting outside on the quiet street, enjoying a delicious meal and wonderful service. Thank you!

I can't even begin to describe how disappointing my visit to Le Chien de Pavlov is. First of all, they have such a cool name. Le Chien de Pavlov means Pavlov's dog, which if you ever took psychology, you'll understand why that's an awesome name for a restaurant. I was definitely salivating when I arrived. They had no online reservation system on their website so I made the reservation via Visa Signature Concierge for 7pm. We arrived on time but was asked to come back at 7:30pm because they weren't ready to open yet for the night. We ordered the burrata, lobster lentil risotto, and the fish. I was disappointed in the burrata. The flavor was lackluster and the cheese itself was hard. It's definitely not the ideal texture for a burrata dish. The biggest problem is the lentil risotto. The dish came with a foam that didn't quite taste like anything. While the lobster was good, the lentil was almost raw. I've had lentils several times before and this was almost not even cooked because there is still a raw grain taste to it. I called someone over to ask about it and they said it's mean to be like that. I ended up just eating the lobster and left all the lentils on the plate. We asked for the check 4 times and waited over 15 minutes before someone came over to let us pay. The dishes are really expensive and not worth the money. I recommend skipping it. If you're in Bordeaux, I would recommend checking our Le Plat Dans L'Assiette instead. It's not very far from this restaurant and is much better.

I highly recommend the restaurant Get the côte de Bouf and you will not regret it. I recommend making a reservation to eat here, it does get busy. We started with a fig, Burratta and Mango mousse salad that was a beautiful and delicious deconstructed salad. We ended up here by the recommendation of a local, the staff were polite, and helpful. This is a great place for a group or a romantic dinner for two; if you're interested in having a special dinner while you are in Bordeaux, Le Chien De Pavlov will not disappoint you. I feel this was a hidden gem because it's on a quiet unassuming street in the historic district, there is outdoor seating but it's unlikely that you would already be walking the block and happen to see the restaurant; it did not come up in my online searches, it was recommended by a local. Sorry I do not have photos, it looked too good to wait!

Very meals tasty with some original food choices and mixes, however a bit expensive given the size of the portions. Service and ambiance are enjoyable.

Love this restaurant! Visited twice in one week. It's off the beaten path so great if you're looking for something that's not in a loud, busy square. Food fantastic! Staff very accommodating, even with our poor French! THANKS

Caveat is we went for lunch. Had a gummy ordinary risotto and fish and chips. Fish was crispy and nicely done but chips were soggy and bland. Only "cool" and interesting things were the edgy antique furniture and the bright green mayonnaise with the fish and chips. If you are impressed with neon colored condiments then this is the place.

Cucumber basil cocktail and old fashioned.

This is the coolest bar/restaurant in Bordeaux! Yeah baby! Loving it. Can't get enough. Drinking and more drinking. Drinking with the cool bartenders (keep buying rounds for them) and eating their amazing food. This place is a little different in they have a set menu with a few select items. I got the 12 oz steak. Still small for me. My friends all got the Duck. I can't do duck. I feel bad. Their so cute. Poor duckies. My food was amazing. I got the 12 oz steak. Not Prime level like the US but it was great. Served with fries and white rice I devoured every bite. I also got the mushroom sauce. Probably because I needed food in my stomach because I drank so much. Steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We drank a lot of great wines and beer. These guys are super cool. We kept buying rounds for everyone. That's probably part of the reason they loved us haha. But great food and great service. What more can I say. Super cool bar and restaurant. Highly recommend!

I'm writing this review in English rather than French because I feel that it will be more relevant…read moreto non-French speakers. I visited Point Rouge tonight with three friends: two of us were British and two were American. The food and wine were both delicious, beautiful, and beyond reproach. However, the service failed to meet the standards the kitchen had established. Although the restaurant was far from full on a Monday night, we consistently waited much longer than every other table for every course, every glass of water, and every drop of wine. Determined to enjoy ourselves anyway, we watched several tables order crêpes Suzette, which were prepared tableside with great pageantry (several diners videoed the preduction), so we ordered them, too. But we were the only table who had our crêpes delivered cold without the tableside drama. I took one frosty bite and retired my fork, and when the waiter asked if there was something wrong with my crêpes, I told him I was disappointed not to have had them prepared tableside. He laughed and took my plate away. We were all charged full price anyway, and I might just mention here that the bill for four of us totaled €288. I am very sorry not to be able to recommend a restaurant with such wonderful food, but of course inferior service can destroy any meal. I cannot prove that the service we received was related that we weren't French, but by the time we left, it certainly felt that way. I might also mention that the toilets are quite...unusual. The doors are clear glass until you enter and lock the door, when they become opaque. However, there is no sign or other indicator that this will happen, so it looks for all the world as though you will be using the toilet in full view of everyone who walks by. I found this to be a very odd, almost cruel, décor decision.

The restaurant was hip, trendy, and had a gorgeous bar. It was probably the largest cocktail menu I have ever seen. I think there were close to 200 drinks and they were delicious. W
