After we had already spent a week in Belgium and a day in Monaco we were already exhausted. So luckily when someone asked does anyone want to go to the beach??? we leaped at the chance to relax on the beach oh yasssss beach please!!!! This beach spot belongs to the hotel that is just behind and across from the street is Hotel Le Negresco a beautiful old hotel. The views are gorgeous the beach is beautiful and the best of all is we got full on restaurant on the beach, the servers brought us menus so we ordered French Champagne Moet Chandon Ice Imperial, my favorite of all French Champagnes OMG lucky meeeee lol We had access to this amazing and beautiful restaurant we could either eat at the open air restaurant where they had tables with umbrellas or we could order food from the restaurant and they will bring it to you on the beach so you can enjoy your food and the gorgeous views ah excellent! So we had a beautiful salad with chicken and frites with mayonnaise as the French do lol And of course we greatly enjoyed our delicious lunch and French Champagne while loving that spectacular view. They have big white chaise lounges and they give you towels and each with your own umbrellas, that these darling boys would adjust for us as the sun moved, I love love loved it all. We ate a beautiful lunch from La Plage the Restaurant it was delicious it was Champagne bliss! This is not free obviously you're paying for the food and bubbly considering it came to a little over $350 per couple for Lunch and a bottle of French Champagne and personal servers so we were there the entire day around 5 hours of heaven on a beach in Nice France. With just enough French on our end and just enough English on theirs, we managed to make it work! The place looks like an ancient cellar with only one door in and out. The three course menu is the way to go. To be honest, I don't know or remember the names of what I ordered, but everything we ordered was great. For starters, we had a shrimp salad with what tasted like a mango chutney. And a plate with greens on it with what looked a deconstructed sausage. All of it: amazing! For mains, we had the durado on a bed of basil infused polenta and what probably was the steak frite, but called something else. Once again: amazing! But remember, their version of medium is more like a medium rare in the good ol' US of A. For dessert, we had a lavender creme brûlée (it was pretty epic) and an equally good chocolate soufflé. Long story short: this place is great and if all you can do is show up and point at things on the menu, you'll probably still end up having a great meal.

Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

For me, the salmon was a little over cooked. I like it almost raw in the middle. Overall, this is a fantastic place. My only regret is that we came on the last night of vacation and I can't come back before returning to the US.
