Botched Nano-needle Job…read more I had a very unfortunate experience with Eli Ross that I feel is important to share with others. After loosing most of my eyebrows due to a medical condition, I reached out to Eli Ross for nano-needling. Since her schedule was fully booked, the receptionist recommended another technician who was supposedly fully trained by Eli. I went ahead and spent a total of $633.33, and drove all the way from Ottawa for what I thought was an experienced professional. I asked for very natural looking hair strokes, but what I got were HUGE, solid coloured eyebrows - no hair strokes. On top of that, one was way larger than the other and had a completely different shape. I looked absolutely ridiculous. But the staff kept assuring me it looked great, and would look totally different once it healed. After a few weeks, nothing had changed, I tried calling her office multiple times but Eli would never return my calls. Finally, I went to another eyebrow professional in Ottawa for a consultation who straight up told me it was a botched job, that the technician went so deep that it was like a real tattoo and would not fade, and that different sized eyebrows obviously isn't something that heals over time. I emailed this information to Eli's staff, and only then did Eli return my calls - this was four months later. Eli agreed that it had gone wrong and agreed to pay for laser tattoo removal treatments. She would only pay for treatments at a place in Montreal where she got a discount. This meant me driving back and forth from Ottawa to Montreal and taking time off work. It is now nearly a year later, I've had two laser treatments, and I am still left with huge red marks around my eyebrows. I emailed Eli to ask for a refund. I will still have to pay for additional laser removal out of my own pocket in Ottawa. And once it is removed, I would not feel comfortable going back to her (or anyone) to get the procedure again. I also paid up front for the touch-up appointment that I never received. Eli called me today to say that she doesn't have to refund me anything. She admits it was a mistake, but apparently feels comfortable keeping my $633.33, because the waiver I signed before the initial appointment says "no refunds". I am now waiting to hear back about discussing this further but I am not optimistic.

I found "Eternité" last year through a promotion on "Tuango" for some laser hair removal services…read more The promotion was for a limited amount of treatment (not enough for what I had in mind) but it gave me the opportunity to try the place. An issue which seems common with laser or IPL hair removal is that the promotion are exceptionally cheap but then you run onto a situation where it's hard to get an appointment and you don't always have good service and expertise. Not so here. The promotion being more limited meant that I had no issue getting appointment and service was nice and personal. I continued with "Eternité" once the promotion was over as they offer fairly low rate for laser hair removal. After a year of treatment, all that could be removed with laser was. Laser can't remove the white hair and have quite a few so I switch to electrolysis (which they also offer) treatment for the rest of the job. I want to mention how nice the technicians are. They make you feel comfortable and they are very professional. The salon is in a nice surrounding on Bernard st. in Outremont and the setting is very nice. The place also offer other beauty service aside from laser and electrolysis like facial, manicure, pedicure etc.

She was having a vision for my hair that, at first, I was a little afraid of, but she convinced me to try! Then we went at the sink for one of the most incredible head massage I had in my life. She cut my hair with such precision and professionalism! I felt so fresh and stylish at the end! I highly recommend you to make an appointment at Beaute Business. I began seeing Jessica Hoff in December who was going to help me with the very long process of going blonde. The first few sessions we had together were good besides the fact that she ruined my dress by getting bleach on it but mistakes happen and that's understandable. She won my loyalty over with the skill she showed back then and that was enough to keep me coming back for more. The last few sessions we had together were horrible. I booked an appointment a month in advance for my final process of going blonde and it started off late. I booked my appointment and arrived on time but was not seen until half an hour later. As a frequent client of her's I completely understood that as well. What was not understandable was that after discussing my goal with Jessica over the past few months of what I wanted my hair to look and communicating an understanding as to what that goal was was her sitting me down in her chair and attending to other clients while I booked weeks in advance to have her time to myself. I understand that hairstylists can multi task but her multitasking resulted in my hair being left over toned in the sink and turning out DARK BLUE. Not only did she not apologize after seeing this happened as I at the time was too much in shock to tell her how I disappointed i was she tried to convince me that this hair colour was intentional and she did it to cut the brass out of my hair. I had so much faith in her at the time that I left the salon believing her but after going home and reflecting, I realized that this was clearly a mistake. After confronting her boss about this they agreed to fix it up for me by putting a colour remover but after that my hair was still not the blonde colour I wanted. It was a grey silver colour with a strange undertone that after a few washes turned out to be GREEN. Furious, I then asked her what this was all about and she said that the green tint was caused by the lighting in certain rooms. After going a week with this colour and going to multiple salons to receive their opinion they decided that the lighting was not the case and that she did not do a proper job with removing the blue, hence the green undertones still being in my hair. I asked her to fix this again. The first time they fixed my hair they did not ask for any compensation but Jessica had the audacity to ask me to tip her the third time she went to fix my hair. I understand doing so because she spent time on my hair, but I would never have been in the position to return back the third time if she just got it right the first time. Even after the third session my hair still pulled a green tint and that is when I called it quits with this dishonest business. After going to a different salon who fixed it properly, my hair has never pulled a green tint. They tried to cover up their poor skills and mistakes with lies and excuses. Don't go here if you don't want to waste time and energy.

Found Furisme while strolling through the fabulous Plateau-Mile End area when I spotted a woman exiting the salon with an amazing haircut. Co-owner Marco offered me a friendly greeting at the door. I did not have an appointment and all of the senior stylists were booked so I ended up giving their junior stylist, Cindy, a try. I was first treated to a long, luxurious shampoo and scalp massage while lying flat out on a chaise instead of sitting in one of those uncomfortable shampoo chairs. The products used smelled amazing and my hair felt terrific when we were through. Cindy may be relatively new to the industry but she is talented and enthusiastic. My cut took about an hour (before styling) but I do have "problem hair." She did spend extra time too putting some nice finishing touches here and there and made sure I looked my best when I left. Other stylists seemed pretty friendly and the overall atmosphere was fun and relaxed with some very cool music flowing in the background. My cut cost me under $40US with tip so I was quite satisfied with the value. Cuts by senior staff are a little more expensive. Having your hair done by a recent graduate might not appeal to everyone but I lucked out and my hair looks great!
