It's a weekday evening at 8:15pm and as I arrive I see how quaint this small restaurant is and anticipate how good this dinner will be. There are 10 or 12 tables and only 3 tables are being used. I ask the bartender for a table (in French) and he rudely asks "did you make a reservation?" I said no. He said "sorry we are full". I look at the 9 open tables and wondered what was going on. I politely left but if he could have heard my thoughts! There are many other great little places in Evians. Pass.

The hotel itself has gorgeous architecture and painted domes but the view is truly something else! You get a nice view of the hotel's vast green spaces along with a wide view of Lake Geneve. I came here with a party of six and was seated quickly. We all ordered the duck foie gras, and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend it as your starter although it is a bit filling. For my main course, I ordered the pasta with caviar. As an American, I didn't care for the al dente pasta, but the sauce and the taste were very rich. The fish with hazelnut butter is was smooth and tender. I give this place a four star rating for amazing views and good service, but food that, while yummy, wasn't outstanding. Foie gras can be bought and eaten out of a can, and the steak my family ordered was overcooked.
